General Conditions:

  • TISS Hyderabad off-campus invites applications for position of TWO Counselors (part-time) to be filled on and contractual basis initially for a period of one years,extendable based on performance and requirement of the Institute, in the Student Counseling Centre.
  • A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Clinical/Counseling Psychology.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience as Counselor in an educational setting or related fields.
  • Salary: Consolidated Rs. 23,000/- to 25,000/-p.m (commensurate with work experience and qualification).
  • The Institute reserves the right to relax qualification of the candidate based on the work experience and to relax age in the case of persons already holding comparable positions in a University/research institution of repute.
  • The institute reserves the right to invite persons for interview who may not have applied for as per the above procedure and not fill up the vacancy advertised.
  • The post is unreserved, but candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/NT/DNT categories are encouraged to apply. The reservations, relaxations and concessions for SC/ST/OBC(NC)/PWD candidates shall be applicable as per Government of India rules.
  • Since applications received may be short listed, merely possessing the prescribed qualifications and the requisite experience would not entitle a person to be called for interview
  • No queries or correspondence regarding issue of call letter for interview / selection of candidates for the post will be entertained at any stage and canvassing in any form is strictly prohibited and will lead to the candidate being debarred from consideration for the post.
  • The SC/ST/OBC(NC)/PWD candidates called for interview must necessarily submit the certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India. OBC candidates are required to submit a certificate regarding his/her ‘OBC status and non-creamy layer status’ in the prescribed GoI format duly issued on or after 01/01/2016 by the competent authority
  • The candidate under employment must bring ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer to appear for presentation/ interview
  • No TA / DA is payable for appearing for the interview.
  • Eligible candidates may attend the walk-in-interview on July 12,2019 and register between 10.30 am -11.00 am at the Reception, 1st floor, TISS Academic block, K.B. Campus, Turkayamjal, Nagarjuna Sagar Road, Hyderabad.
  • The selected candidates are expected to join within 15 days from the date of receiving the appointment letter.
  • An application expressing your interest in the position along with detailed resume stating education, employment, skills and three references.
  • Additional three copies of resumes stating education, employment, skills and three references.
  • A demand draft for Rs. 500/- (Rs. five hundred only) as application processing fees, drawn in favour of ‘Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad campus’, payable at Hyderabad.

TISS started out as a small institute offering a post-graduate diploma in Social Work, but has since expanded continuously in terms of educational programmes and infrastructure (see list of programs). The first director of the institute was Clifford Manshardt, who aimed to establish a post-graduate social work school of national stature that would engage in a continuous study of Indian social issues and create meaningful interventions.
  • Over the years, the Institute has, among other thrusts, made a significant contribution to policy, planning, action strategies and human resource development. It has done so in several areas, ranging from sustainable rural and urban development to education, health, communal harmony, human rights and industrial relations.
