General Information:
- Online applications are invited by Rail Wheel Plant, Bela from the candidates having qualification of B.Tech/B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics/ Instrumentation/Computer/IT Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics/Instrumentation/Computer/IT Engineering for enrolment as trainee Apprentices under Nation Apprentice Training Scheme, a scheme under ministry of Human Resource Development, GOI. Preference will be given to those candidates who reside in nearby districts such as Saran, Vaishali & Patna of Bihar.
- Candidates who have passed out within the last 3 years (2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020) will be considered.
- Candidates with job experience for a period of 1 year or more will not be considered for enrolment as Trainee Apprentice.
- When the prescribed number of persons belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) are not available, it will be filled by Scheduled Tribes candidates (ST). For Scheduled Tribes slots, in case Scheduled Tribes candidates are not available, they will be filled by Scheduled Castes candidates. If the prescribed training slots for SC/ST candidates cannot be filled even in the above given manner, then the training slots so lying unfilled will be filled by persons not belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes i.e. Unreserved candidates. Similarly, the seats remaining unfilled by Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates will be filled by candidates of Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes or Unreserved candidates. The seats remaining unfilled by Unreserved candidates will be filled by candidates of Other Backward Classes (OBC) or the Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes candidates (ST). This shall be as per merit.
- Candidates belonging to the districts of Saran, Vaishali & Patna of Bihar will be given preference for enrolment for training.
- Candidates should have the educational qualifications indicated for notified training in the notification from recognized Institutes/Universities/Boards as on the closing date of the application. The details of the academic qualifications are as under. Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational qualification SHOULD NOT apply.
- Full time regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technology or regular B.E. or full time regular Diploma in the listed fields from recognized Board/University. The total maximum marks and total marks obtained for all Years/Semesters will be summed up to arrive at an aggregate percentage. No rounding off will be done and no weightage will be given to any particular Semester/Year.
- No additional weightage will be given to the candidate who possesses higher qualification along with above minimum essential qualification.
- Candidates should satisfy minimum standard of physical fitness as prescribed in the notification and the standards prescribed for imparting training to the relevant trade. The medical fitness shall be certified by RWP/Bela Medical Authority in respective medical category. The expenses for Medical examination
shall be borne by the candidate. - Candidates who have already undergone or currently undergoing Apprenticeship training under National Apprentice Training Scheme in any Government/Public Sector Undertaking/Private Industrial Organization are not eligible to apply.
- The candidates who want to avail the benefit of reservation of SC/ST, must produce his/her Caste certificate in Central Government format issued by appropriate authority at the time of Document Verification. Similarly, the candidates who want to avail the benefit of reservation of OBC, must produce Caste Certificate and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after 01/04/2020 on Central Government format by appropriate authority at the time of Document Verification. A copy of all the documents should be enclosed along with the application.
- The candidate is not eligible for any TA/DA/Boarding or Lodging expenses incurred during the period of training. RWP/Bela will not provide any financial assistance towards transportation.
- The candidate, who is enrolled as an Apprentice Trainee for training in RWP/Bela, is required to possess an Aadhar linked Bank Account in his own name and PAN card to receive stipend.
- No Hostel accommodation will be provided. Selected candidates will have to make their own arrangement during their training and they will be released on completion of the training.
- The candidates will be selected directly through the award letter issued through the NATS, MIIRD (Government of India) portal for training based on the percentage of the marks obtained at the time of acquiring of BE or Diploma in relevant field.
- In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidates with older age shall be preferred. In case the date of birth are also same, then the candidate who passed matriculation exam. earlier shall be considered first.
- Eligibility of the candidates will be considered only on the strength of the information furnished in the application. If at any stage, it is found that any information furnished by the candidate in his/her application is false/incorrect or the candidate has suppressed any relevant information or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post, his/her candidature will be rejected forthwith.

- Rail Wheel Plant, Bela has become a Production Unit of Indian Railways w.e.f 01.08.2014. It is situated at Bela in Dariyapur Block of Saran district in Bihar (India). Foundation stone of this Plant was laid in 2008 by the then Minister for Railways Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav. It is being built at an approx. cost of Rs. 1500 crores. It is spread over a land area of 295 acres. The project work is being looked after by Workshop Projects/Indian Railways, Patna.The Rail Wheel Plant’s construction started in July 2008. This plant is a step to revive industrialisation in Northern Bihar .Indian Railways made history by awarding this project as EPC contract to M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited. It was for the first time in history of Indian Railways that a highly sophisticated factory was set up without any foreign collaboration. It was possible because of inhouse capability of Railway engineers and Expertise of World renowned Indian company. It was a challenge for Railways to start civil works in such a difficult site which is surrounded by river bodies from two sides. To add to the complication, the elevation of Plant was lower than the river bed. Also the soil was so loose, Railways made use of stone columning for increasing the load-bearing capacity of soil.
- Rail Wheel Plant (RWP) is situated at Bela, in Saran Distt. of Bihar (India). It is established to meet the growing requirement of wheel discs for the Indian Railways.
