General Information:

  • Candidates should read the below mentioned terms and conditions and instructions carefully before filing up the form .
  • The application should be strictly as per proforma prescribed.
  • Only one application should be submitted by the candidate. If any candidates su bm its morethan one application, all the applications will be summarily rejected .
  • The application should clearly indicates the post in the application form to which he/she is applying for by marking ‘1’, ‘2’ and ‘3’ in order of preference and ‘X’ if not interested in a post. For eg., if a person is applying only for post of Income Tax Inspector he has to mark ‘1’ in the cell against the post and mark ‘X’ in the cel l against Tax Assistant and MTS . If a person is applying for post of Income Tax Inspector and Tax
    Assistant in that order of preference, he has to mark ‘1’ against cell corresponding to Income Tax Inspector and ‘2’ against Tax Ass istant and mark ‘X’ against cell corresponding to MTS and if a person is applying for post of Tax Assistant and MTS only in that order of preference, he has to mark ‘X’ against ce ll corresponding to Income Tax Inspector, and ‘1’ and ‘2’ in cell against Tax Assistant and MTS.
  • Failure to indicate the post( s) will make his/her application liable for rejection without any furthe r correspondence.
  • The appl ication should attach / upload along with the application, the under mentioned form s duly filled up and signed by the respective sports authorities as mentio ned in the forms (accompanied by copy of relevant MERIT Certificate/Participation Certificate).
  • First preference to those cand idates who have represe nted the country in an International Competition with the clearance of the Department of Youth Affair and Sports.
  • Next preference may be given to those who have represented a State/Union Territories in the Senior or Junior Level National Championships organized by the National Sports Federations recognized by Depart ment of Youth Affairs & Sports or National Games organized by Indian Olympic Association and have won medals or positions upto 3rd place. Between the candidates participating in Senior and Junior National Championships
    /Games, the candidates having participated and won medal in Senio r Nati onal Championship should be give n preference .
  • Next preference may be given to those, who have represented the State School in the National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation and have won medals or positions upto 3rd place .
  • Next preference may be given to those, who have been awarded National Award in Physical Efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.
  • Next preference may be given t o those, who represented a State/U nion Territory/University/State School Teams at the level mentioned in categories (b) to (d) but could not win the medal or position in the same order of preference.

Selection Process:

  • The applications will be scrutinized and suitable candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process. Department reserves the right to decide the number of candidates to be called for field trails based on the credentials of the candidates. The selection will be conducted after field trails, which will be intimated to the candidates through their registered E-maillD / Mobile Number.
  • The recruitment process will be in two phases. In the first phase, the eligible candidates will be shortlisted, as per their option of the post applied for, on the basis of their current form and achievement in sports and games.
  • The short listed candidates will be required to appear for the field trials at Chennai (at their own expense). In case any candidate is unable to attend / participate, whatsoever for any reason or having participated in the test is not found fit, he / she would not be considered for appointment.
  • It is clarified that field trials will be conducted to check the fitness levels of the candidates and performance in the field trials will count for ranking purpose.
  • Weightage wil l be given for the achievement based on the year of participation in recognized tournaments / events in the calendar years 2020,2019,2018 & 2017.
  • Performance in the field trials confers no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied after such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respect for appointment to the post.
  • The applicant should attach / upload self- attested copies of the following certificates along with the application.
    (i) Matriculation /SSC or equivalent certificate for proof of age
    (ii) Education qualification
    (iii) Sports/games certificates
    (iv) Caste / Community certificate in support of claim.
  • Sports achievements certified by authorities other than recognized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs shall not be considered .
  • Sports person who are already employed in Central Government or State Government or PSU should attach / upload an Noe from the present employer.
  • The selected candidates will be posted in Tamilnadu & Puducherry region only.The selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years or such period as per the extant instructions of the Government of India. His/her participation in the tournament/meets on behalf of the Department will also be a deciding factor in the declaration of his /her probation. The selected candidates will be required to represent the Income Tax Department, Tamilnadu & Puducherry region, in the tournament/meets as decided at least for 10 years. The selected candidates wi ll also be required to sign an undertaking that he/she would not seek inter-charge transfer for a period of 10 years.
