  • While appearing for the interview, the candidates are required to submit the Application Form attached with this advertisement duly filled in all respect in A4 size paper with a recent passport size photograph pasted on it along with one set of self attested copies of testimonials. Candidates will have to produce the original testimonials during interview for verification.
  • Not below 20 years but not exceeding 39 years as on 01.01.2019 (i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January 1980 and not later than 1st January 1999. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, by 3 years for B.C. (Non-creamy Layer) candidates and by 6 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
  • Candidates belonging to S.C., S.T., B.C. (non-creamy layer) are required to produce the Original Caste Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD) (40% and above) are required to produce disability certificate as per the West Bengal Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Rules, 1999.
  • Consolidated Pay of Rs. 25,500/- (Rupees twenty five thousand five hundred) per month.
  • Sampling, reagent preparation and analytical support for physicochemical and microbiological/biological analysis of wate(surface/ground/industrial discharge) samples and other works associated with the project as will be assigned by the Laboratory Incharge.
  • 1000 hrs to 1750 hrs during Monday to Friday. Attending the laboratory or sampling site during holidays or beyond office hours may be required as demanded by the project work and as assigned by the Laboratory In-charge.
  • Frequent travelling for collection of samples across the State may be required.

  • As per provisions of Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 all new intending projects (Developmental & Industrial) are required to obtain “Consent to Establish”(popularly termed as NOC) from State Pollution Control Board. Depending upon the pollution and hazard potential of industrial activities, the industries are categorised as red , orange, green , white and exempted. There are siting restrictions for these industries. Prospective entrepreneurs should take into account these restrictions while selecting land for their proposed industries.
  • This is conducted at various monitoring stations in the state and near the polluting clusters of industries. Specific parameters like Oxides of Sulfur, Oxides of Nitrogen, Respirable Particulate Matter etc. Are monitored in the ambient air quality monitoring stations. Data of ambient air quality monitoring stations are presented at the web site of the Board (Please click here for data).
  • The WBPCB regularly monitors water quality of rivers, such as Hooghly, Damodar, Barakar and Rupnarayan by analysing the physico-chemical, bacteriological and biological parameters. Under the National Water Monitoring Programme (NWMP), the Board monitors the water quality of ninety seven (97) surface water bodies including ground water at areas with potential to have been impacted by industrial activity. The river water samples are collected every month from the surface water stations and every six monthly from ground water stations which are analyzed in six of the Board laboratories situated at Kolkata, Kankinada, Durgapur, Hooghly, Haldia and Dankuni.   • The noise characteristics from various sources, especially the areas in and around hospitals and schools in Kolkata, and its impact on human health are studied. Noise monitoring is specially done during festive days. Five Automatic Ambient Noise Measurement stations have been installed in Kolkata at Salt Lake (Paribesh Bhavan), Central Kolkata (KMC Buildings), Kasba Induatrial Area, SSKM Hospital Premise and Baishnabghata-Patuli (Satyajit Roy Park).   • The Board issues authorization for the establishment of Solid Waste management facilities after obtaining approval from a Committee comprising representatives of Kolkata Metropolitan Development Agency, Municipal Engineering Directorate, State Water Investigation Directorate, etc. The Board has also been entrusted with the duty of monitoring the compliance of MSW management facilities w.r.t. groundwater, ambient air, leachate quality and compost quality including incineration standards as specified in the Rules.
