Post-wise Educational Qualification
For SCT SI (Civil), Reserve SI (AR) and SI in the Special Protection Force, candidates need a Degree from a recognized university. SC/ST candidates who have passed Intermediate and appeared for the first and second-year Degree examinations can also qualify under the conditions specified in the notification.
SI (Communications) requires an eligible Diploma or B.Tech qualification in ECE, EEE, Computer Engineering or IT, a Special Diploma in Electronics, or a three-year B.Sc Electronics qualification. SI (Police Transport Organisation) requires a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
Scientific Assistant applicants need an M.Sc. in the relevant Physical, Chemical, Bio-Chemistry, Forensic Science or specified biological science discipline, with the prescribed division.
Police Constable (Civil), Police Constable (AR) and Fireman generally require Intermediate or an equivalent qualification. For eligible SC/ST candidates, SSC with the prescribed Intermediate study/appearance condition applies. Warder positions require Intermediate or an equivalent qualification.
Police Constable (Communications) requires SSC with a specified ITI qualification, Intermediate with MPC, or the prescribed Vocational Intermediate qualification in EET/ET. Constable (Mechanics) requires SSC along with ITI in Wireman, Motor Mechanic Vehicle, Mechanic Diesel or Fitter. Constable (Drivers) requires Intermediate or SSC with the specified ITI qualification. Applicants must also have held a valid LMV driving licence continuously for at least two years as on the notification date.

Eligible serving local Home Guards can have an upper age limit of 32 years for applicable Police Constable posts. EWS, BC-NCL, SC and ST candidates are eligible for relaxation of up to five years under the prescribed rules. Andhra Pradesh State Government employees may receive relaxation based on regular service, up to the specified limit. Ex-Servicemen and whole-time NCC Instructors are eligible for three years plus the length of qualifying service. Special upper-age provisions also apply to eligible widows, divorced women and judicially separated women for PC Civil and allied recruitment.

Selected candidates will receive a stipend during institutional training. The applicable regular pay scale will take effect after successful completion of training.

Non-local applicants will be treated as OC for fee purposes and must pay the applicable OC fee. Candidates should complete the final submission after making payment. Payment of the fee alone without pressing the required “Submit” option will not constitute a valid application.
Selection Process for AP Police Recruitment 2026
The selection procedure differs according to the post. For SI Civil, Reserve SI (AR), SI (SPF), Police Constable Civil/AR, Fireman and Warder positions, the process consists of a qualifying Preliminary Written Test, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Certificate Verification.
SI Communications and SI PTO candidates will undergo Certificate Verification, PMT and a qualifying 1600-metre run before the written examination. The written assessment includes qualifying English along with Arithmetic & Reasoning and a Technical Paper, with merit determined on 300 marks.
Police Constable (Communications) selection includes PMT, a qualifying 1600-metre run and a 200-mark Technical Paper. Constable Mechanics and Driver candidates will undergo PMT, a qualifying 1600-metre run, Trade Test or Driving Test as applicable, followed by a 200-mark Technical Paper. The Trade/Driving Test carries 100 marks and is qualifying with a minimum requirement of 50 marks.
Scientific Assistant recruitment differs from the uniformed posts. Candidates will take a single objective written examination consisting of 120 questions for 120 marks over two hours, followed by Certificate Verification. No physical test is prescribed for Scientific Assistant. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for OC/EWS, 35% for BC and 30% for SC/ST candidates.
Physical and Medical Requirements
Applicable police, fire and prison posts are subject to the physical and medical standards specified in the respective notifications. The prescribed eyesight standard includes distant vision of 6/6 and near vision of 0/5 in both eyes with a full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint and specified physical defects are disqualifying conditions. Candidates should check their individual notification for complete physical measurement, efficiency and medical requirements.

How to Apply for SLPRB AP Police Recruitment 2026
Keep a valid personal email address active throughout the recruitment process. Once registration opens, visit the official SLPRB Andhra Pradesh recruitment portal. Select the relevant notification and complete the initial registration using the required details. Note the generated registration number and proceed with Stage I of the online application.
Enter the required personal, educational, category and other eligibility information. Upload the prescribed photograph, signature, SSC certificate and Community/EWS/NCL certificates, where applicable. Pay the appropriate application fee online and complete the final submission. Candidates should ensure that they press “Submit” after payment.
Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Written Test, wherever applicable, will subsequently be required to upload Stage II documents through the recruitment portal. Save a copy of the submitted application and payment details for future use. Candidates applying for more than one post covered by the same notification need to submit only one application for that notification.
Important Instructions
BC candidates must produce the required Community Certificate along with an NCL certificate issued on or after April 1, 2026. Submitted applications cannot be edited after final submission. Unfilled women’s vacancies under Police Constable (Communications) will be filled by men belonging to the corresponding category rather than being carried forward. Unfilled vacancies under specified special categories, including Home Guard, CPP, NCC and Ex-Servicemen, will be added to the direct recruitment vacancies as prescribed.
