Candidates holding a qualification degree from a discipline other than those listed above are not eligible to apply. However, the Corporation reserves the right to take a final decision in considering an Engineering discipline eligible in case it is different from those mentioned above. The essential qualification should be recognized in India and obtained from a recognized Institution or University.
Final year or semester students who expect their final results by 31.08.2027 are also eligible to apply, provided they have obtained minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to the pre-final examination. In case of selection, their candidature shall be subject to their securing minimum 60% marks in the essential qualification. Such candidates need to mention their marks up to the pre-final examination while filling up the online application form.
Relaxations and Concessions
The posts are identified as suitable for specified subcategories of PwBD candidates across the four disciplines. Reservation, relaxation and concession to OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD/Ex-SM/Victims of riots shall be as per Government of India directives. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of the relevant disability, permanent in nature, shall only be eligible for the benefit for PwBD.

Relaxation in marks in the essential qualification for SC/ST/PwBD candidates is to pass marks for posts reserved for the respective category/PwBD category, as per the final detailed advertisement to be issued before commencement of online registration.
OBC(NCL) candidates must produce an OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate based on income for the Financial Year (FY) 2023-2024, 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 and issued on or after 01.04.2026. EWS candidates must possess the requisite Income and Asset Certificate based on income for FY 2025-2026 and issued on or after 01.04.2026. PwBD candidates must submit a medical certificate in the prescribed format issued by the Government Medical Board along with a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card or certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
Selection Process
Details of the selection process shall be indicated in the notification to be published on the POWERGRID website before commencement of online registration. Mere appearance in GATE 2027 or submission of an application to POWERGRID does not guarantee the adequacy of candidature for being considered for the further selection process.

The CTC shall vary depending on the location of posting and other terms and conditions of appointment. On regularization, the compensation package includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites and Allowance as per cafeteria approach, Performance Related Pay, Company Leased Accommodation / Company Quarters or HRA, Reimbursement of monthly conveyance expenditure, digital services reimbursement, uniform, laptop facility, PF, Gratuity, Pension & Leave encashment, Group Insurance, Group Personal Accident Insurance, and other benefits as per the policies of the organization.
Service Agreement Bond
Selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond to successfully complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organization for at least three years. The amount of the bond is INR 5,00,000/- for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates and INR 2,50,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
Application Fee
Candidates are required to deposit a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- through online mode only. SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM/Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of application fees. On submission of application fees, the application process will be treated as complete.

How to Apply
- Candidates have to register and appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2027 through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
- A separate notification with details regarding the number of vacancies, reservation, selection process and important instructions regarding submission of the POWERGRID online application shall be hosted on the POWERGRID website during March/April 2027 onwards tentatively.
- The application window for POWERGRID will open during March/April 2027 tentatively. Candidates have to register online at the POWERGRID website with details of their GATE 2027 Application No., GATE 2027 Registration Number and other required information, which will be made available at the CAREER section of www.powergrid.in.
- Candidates are required to login to their candidate login section and then deposit the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- through online mode only, unless exempted.
- Candidates will be required to retain their GATE 2027 Admit card and GATE 2027 Score card for verification at every stage of the recruitment process, including pre-employment medical examination/joining in POWERGRID.
General Information and Instructions
- Only Indian Nationals of age 18 years or above are eligible to apply for POWERGRID.
- Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement.
- Graduates who are desirous of pursuing further studies on the basis of GATE 2027 or need extension of joining time in case of selection need not apply.
- Vacancies are for requirement all over the country, mostly at on-site locations. Selected candidates shall be assigned for on-the-job training and final postings accordingly, and are liable to be posted at the discretion of management to serve at any of the company’s offices/establishments/Subsidiaries/JVs/units or any other government department, statutory body or public sector undertaking anywhere in India or abroad.
- The date of issuance of the final mark sheet shall be taken as the date of acquiring qualification.
- Wherever CGPA/OGPA/DGPA or Letter Grade in a degree/diploma is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by the University/Institute.
- Candidates working in Govt. organizations/PSU are required to produce a “No Objection Certificate” at every stage of the recruitment process.
- Candidates claiming reservation under OBC(NCL) or EWS should belong to that category as on the last date of online submission of application to POWERGRID.
- Candidates selected in POWERGRID are liable to be posted anywhere in India and abroad.
