General Information:

  • Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the following (Device Development Program) DDP-DST funded sponsored research project.
  • Tensiometer based automated IoT system for irrigation.
  • M.Tech./M.E in Electronics & Comm. Engineering with specialization in embedded system /Computer Engineering with specialization in ML and Data Analytics (OR) B.Tech. in Electronics & Comm. Engg. / Computer engineering with valid GATE.
  • Desirable Qualification & Experience: Candidates must have worked in ML and Data Analytics
  • Age limit: Must not be over 28 years as on Nov 15th, 2020 (relaxation as per the norms/ orders of Government of India).
  • Duration of appointment: Temporary appointment is for till the project duration ends.
  • Consolidated monthly compensation/Fellowship: Rs. 31,000 (thirty one thousand only) + HRA @ 8% per month. In total Rs. 33480 (thirty three thousand four hundred eighty only). (HRA will be given only if accommodation in the Institute Hostel is not available)
  • Candidate possessing the requisite qualification and experience should apply in the attached format. Last date for application submission is 15.11.2020.

  • Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee invitation to the interview.Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit and need of the project. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated to appear in the interview and no other communication in this regard will be entertained.   • National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya or NITM) is one of the National Institutes of Technology. It is in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. Classes were started in 2010 at the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat.
  • The institute is one among the 32 NITs in India established as Institutions of National Importance with funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, government of India.
  • The institute was set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development by the NIT Act in 2010. The foundation stone of NIT Meghalaya at Sohra (Cherrapunjee) was laid by then Union Minister for IT and Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal in October 2012.
  • NIT Meghalaya was ranked 61 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) engineering ranking of 2020.
  • The institute presently functions from a temporary campus at the Bijni Complex in Laitumkhrah, Shillong, of the North Eastern Hill University.
  • The institute admitted its first batch of B.Tech students in July 2010 and the first two batches carried out their studies in the mentor institute, SVNIT Surat till December 2012. The academic activities of the institute in Meghalaya started in Shillong at the Bijni Complex of the North Eastern Hill University, in the city, with the admission of the third batch in July 2012.
  • Admissions to the B.Tech program are based on JEE (Main) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and through the counseling conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
  • The Central Library houses popular titles in Engineering, Technology, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Management to enrich the students with requisite knowledge and expertise. It has a rich collection of around 13,000 text and reference books and electronic resources. In addition to this, the library provides access to the Digital Library of ACM, IEEE and ASME.
  • NIT Meghalaya provides separate hostels for boys and girls to many of its outstation candidates. The hostels are provided with the basic facilities a student will need. The hostels have internet facility. Adequate bus facility has been extended for commutates of students staying at hostels.
