General Conditions:

  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for the position.
  • The posts are purely temporary in nature and are only against requirement for Engineers & Supervisors for the Railway Electrification Project Sites mentioned in the advertisement and would cease to exist after 600 days of joining or once the identified work of the Project is over, whichever is earlier. The engagement will be only on Fixed Tenure Basis for the period notified herein. Selection of candidates on Fixed Tenure Basis for the identified work of the notified project is not against any permanent vacancy and shall not entitle selected candidates to any claim for regular/permanent employment in BHEL during the period of their engagement and/or anytime in future.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Persons with Disability/Ex-Servicemen category should upload self-attested copy of the certificate issued by the Competent Authority to that effect. OBC candidates are required to upload Other Backward Class Certificate (Non-Creamy Layer) (Certificate in the format as applicable for appointment to posts under Government of India) issued on or after 01/04/2018. OBC candidates are also required to upload a self-undertaking that they belong to the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). The OBC candidates who do not belong to Non-Creamy Layer should indicate their category as ‘General’ only.
  • Candidates applying under EWSs category should fulfil the conditions stipulated for applying under ‘Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) in civil posts and services in Government of India’ issued vide DoPT OM dt.19.01.2019. Such candidates should upload the requisite certificate certifying their “Income and Asset of the family” in the prescribed format (as available in our website), from an Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar, along with their online application.
  • Reservation for Persons with Disabilities candidates and Ex-servicemen will be in accordance with Government directives. As the same is on horizontal basis, the vacancies will be filled and adjusted in the appropriate category viz. UR/OBC/SC/ST/EWS.
  • Outstation candidates shortlisted for Interview will be reimbursed to and fro Second Class Train fare from the mailing address or the starting station, whichever is nearer to the place of interview by the shortest route, on production of proof of journey.

  • BHEL was established in 1964 ushering in the indigenous Heavy Electrical Equipment industry in India. Heavy Electricals (India) Limited was merged with BHEL in 1974.[2] In 1991, BHEL was converted into a public limited company. Over time, it developed the capability to produce a variety of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipments for all sectors, including transmission, transportation, oil and gas and other allied industries.[2] However, the bulk of the revenue of the company is derived from sale of equipment for power generation such as turbines, boilers, etc. As of 2017, BHEL supplied equipment contributed to about 55% of the total installed power generation capacity of India.[3] The company has also supplied thousands of Electric Locomotives to Indian Railway,[2] as well as defence equipment such as the Super Rapid Gun Mount (SRGM) naval guns and Defence Simulators to the Indian Armed Forces.
