General Instruction:

  • Airports Authority of India(AAI) a Schedule – “A” Mini Ratna Category-1 Public Sector Enterprise entrusted with the responsibility of creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing Civil Aviation infrastructure both on the ground and air space in the country.
  • Airports Authority of India, Regional Headquarters, Western Region invites applications from the eligible and willing candidates from ITI Trade who are domicile of Maharashtra/ Gujarat/ Madhya Pradesh/ Goa meeting the following Educational qualifications for engagement as Apprentices under Apprentices Act 1961/2014 (as amended from time to time) and commensurate policies/rules of the organization.Reservation will be applicable as per the prescribed percentage for recruitment applicable to the state where Apprentices are engaged.
  • Last Date of receipt of application is 24/01/2021.
  • The interested candidates are required to apply through RDAT’s web portal www.apprenticeshipindia.org by finding establishment Airports Authority of India – RHQ NR, New Delhi and click the apply button in the next page. After successful application,the message “Successfully applied for the training position. Based on availability, you will be contacted by the establishment” will appear.
  • Candidates should register themselves with the concerned portal (RDAT) prior to applying for apprenticeship training in AAI without fail. Correspondence/ Communication in any other manner will not be entertained.
  • No TA/DA will be provided.
  • The no. of candidates to be engaged is indicative and may undergo changes without any further notification.
  • During the period of apprenticeship, candidates will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended in 1973 and till date) and the policies/rules of the organization.
  • Reservation for SC/ST, OBC and EWS as applicable will be followed, however, in case of non-availability of candidates in reserved category it will be filled from other reserved categories/general categories.
  • Airports Authority of India has no obligation to give regular employment to Apprentices. They shall have no right to claim regular employment from AAI on the basis of this apprenticeship at any point of time. This training program shall not create any liability on AAI for providing any job to the Apprentice. AAI management does not take any responsibility for any sort of employment/placement.
  • The decision of Management will be final and binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, mode of selection,cancellation of the selection process either in part or full, etc. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Filling up of the seats is solely at the discretion of the management based on suitability of candidates and no claim will entertained, if some of
    these seats are not filled due to unsuitability/insufficient number of candidates.
  • AAI Management does not take any responsibility to reply to the candidate/organization for non-selection /non-issuance of call letter.
  • It shall be the sole responsibility of the candidates to get their profile verified from the respective regional BOAT/BOPT.
  • Candidates applying for more than one Trade/Discipline will not be considered and their application will be rejected.
  • No Application Fee is being charged.
  • The candidature of the applicant would be provisional, subject to verification of certificates/testimonials and submission of certificate of Medical Fitness (to be obtained only from a Government Medical officer/Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking) at the time of joining.

  • The Airports Authority of India or AAI is a statutory body (created through the Airports Authority of India Act, 1994) working under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure in India. It provides Communication Navigation Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) services over Indian airspace and adjoining oceanic areas. AAI is currently managing a total of 137 Airports, including 23 International Airports, 10 Customs Airports, 81 Domestic Airports and 23 Civil enclaves at Defense Airfields. AAI also has ground installations at all airports and 25 other locations to ensure safety of aircraft operations. AAI covers all major air-routes over Indian landmass via 29 Radar installations at 11 locations along with 700 VOR/DVOR installations co-located with Distance Measuring Equipment (DME). 52 runways are provided with Instrument landing system (ILS) installations with Night Landing Facilities at most of these airports and Automatic Message Switching System at 15 Airports.
  • The Government of India constituted the International Airports Authority of India (IAAI) in 1972 to manage the nation’s international airports while the National Airports Authority of India (NAAI) was constituted in 1986 to look after domestic airports.The organisations were merged in April 1995 by an Act of Parliament, namely, the Airports Authority of India Act, 1994 and has been constituted as a Statutory Body and was named as Airports Authority of India (AAI).This new organisation was to be responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and air space in the country.
  • AAI’s implementation of Automatic Dependence Surveillance System (ADSS), at Kolkata and Chennai Air Traffic Control Centres, made India the first country to use this technology in the South East Asian region thus enabling Air Traffic Control over oceanic areas using satellite mode of communication. Performance Based Navigation (PBN) procedures have already been implemented at Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad Airports. AAI is implementing the GAGAN project in technological collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The navigation signals thus received from the GPS will be augmented to achieve the navigational requirement of aircraft. The first phase of the technology demonstration system was completed in February 2008.
