- List of Examination Centres is given at Para 24 of this notice. Center/City allocation will depend upon technical and logistical feasibility. Candidates may have to travel to other Cities /States.
- A candidate would be considered only for the vacancies within the region where she / he take the examination. No request for change of date /centre of Examination will be entertained. The EPFO, however, reserve the right to change the venue and / or Centre and / or cancel any centre at its discretion. RECRUITMENT TO VACANCIES IN DIFFERENT REGIONS IS A SEPARATE RECRUITMENT FOR ALL PURPOSE. A
COMMON WRITTEN EXAMINATION IS HELD ON SAME DAY FOR ADMINISTRATIVE REASON ONLY. - Between 18 to 27 years as on 21st July, 2019 with age relaxation as applicable (Refer Para 14 of the notice).
- Must possess the Degree from a recognized university or equivalent as on the closing date for online registration of application i.e 21st July, 2019 and ii) possessing a speed of at least 5000 key depressions per hour for Data Entry Work. The Educational Qualification Certificates viz provisional or regular Degree should contain the date of issue. In case, date of issue of these certificates is after the closing date of the notice, then the consolidated mark sheet with date of declaration of the result of final qualifying exam or individual mark sheets of all the semesters with date of declaration of result of each semester should be submitted. In case of non-availability of date in any of these certificates,then a certificate from the Institution/University to this effect (indicating date of declaration of result) should be produced at the time of document verification.
- Eligibility of the candidates will be considered only on the basis of the information furnished in the ONLINE Application.
- Electronic gadgets like Mobile phones, Bluetooth, pen drive, laptops, calculators, wrist watches or any other communication devices or pen/pencil,wallets/purses, belts and metallic wears including ornaments etc., are strictly NOT allowed inside the examination hall. Any infringement of this instruction will entail summary rejection besides legal action including debarment from future examinations.
- There will be three phase examination as mentioned at Para 22 of the notice.
- For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
- After submitting the online application, the candidates are required to take print out of the finally submitted online application and retain the same with them.
- CANDIDATES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO SUBMIT TO EPFO EITHER BY POST OR BY HAND THE PRINTOUTS OF THEIR ONLINE APPLICATIONS OR ANY OTHER DOCUMENT. They will be required to submit printout of online application along with documents in support of their eligibility etc. at later stage.
- THE CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO SUBMIT ONLY SINGLE ONLINE APPLICATION. However, if somehow, she/he submits multiple online applications, then she/he must ensure that online application with the higher “Application Number” is complete in all respects including fee. The applicants, who submit multiple online applications, should note that only the online application with higher “Application
Number” shall be entertained by the EPFO and fee paid against one “Application Number” shall not be adjusted against any other “Application Number”

- The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (abbreviated to EPFO), is an organization tasked to assist the Central Board of Trustees, a statutory body formed by the Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 and is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
- EPFO assists the Central Board in administering a compulsory contributory Provident Fund Scheme, a Pension Scheme and an Insurance Scheme for the workforce engaged in the organized sector in India. It is also the nodal agency for implementing Bilateral Social Security Agreements with other countries on a reciprocal basis. The schemes cover Indian workers as well as International workers (for countries with which bilateral agreements have been signed. As of now 19 Social Security Agreements are operational).It is one of the largest social security organisations in India in terms of the number of covered beneficiaries and the volume of financial transactions undertaken.The EPFO’s apex decision making body is the Central Board of Trustees (CBT).
- The question of providing for the future of industrial workers after their retirement or for their dependents, in the event of their premature death, engaged the attention of the Central Government for a long time. The first Provident Fund Act passed in 1925 for regulating the provident funds of some private concerns was limited in scope. In 1929 the Royal Commission on Labour stressed the need for formulating schemes for instituting provident funds for industrial workers. In the Indian Labour Conference held in 1948, it was generally agreed that the introduction of a statutory provident fund scheme for industrial workers might be undertaken. To test such a scheme in a restricted field the Coal Mines Provident Fund Scheme was launched in 1948. The success of this Scheme led to the demand for its expansion to other industries.
- Accordingly, close of the year 1951 witnessed the promulgation of the Employees’ Provident Funds Ordinance. The Ordinance promulgated on 15 November 1951 was replaced by the Employees’ Provident Funds Act, 1952 which extended to the whole of India except Jammu and Kashmir. The Employees’ Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 framed under section 5 of the Act was brought into force by stages and was enforced in its entirety by 1 November 1952.
