Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the Government of India rules. The relaxation details are as follows:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC-NCL: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per government norms (additional relaxation for service rendered in defense)
- PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): 10 years (additional relaxation as per category)
- COVID-19 Relief: Candidates who were unable to appear in previous RRB examinations due to the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible for an additional age relaxation of 3 years.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must ensure they meet the educational qualifications required for the posts under RRB CEN 08/2024. The minimum educational qualification for all posts under 7th CPC Level-1 is as follows:
- 10th Pass (SSLC/Matriculation) or ITI or equivalent: Candidates must have passed the 10th standard (Matriculation) from a recognized board. Alternatively, candidates with an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade are also eligible.
- Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India. Subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1962 are also eligible, provided they fulfill the necessary conditions as per government norms.
Medical Standards
Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards for the respective posts. The medical standards are categorized as follows:

Visual Acuity:
- Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D).
- Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.
- Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit and free from any physical deformities that may interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
- Hearing Ability: Candidates should have normal hearing ability.
