General Information:

  • Applications will be received on-line only and all further communications will be made to the applicants through email/ IIRS website only. Therefore, the applicants are advised to check their e-mail and visit the IIRS website from time to time. IIRS will not take responsibility for non-receipt of intimation regarding call letter / any communication due to technical reasons or whatsoever to the candidates.
  • On-line registration is available in the website institute http://www.iirs.gov.in from 10:00HRS on 17/11/2020 to 10:00 HRS on 07/12/2020 for registering applications.
  • Any request for change of address/e-mail id for communication will NOT be entertained.
  • The post is temporary but likely to continue.
  • IIRS/ISRO reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the posts, if it so decides.
  • Outstation candidates who are eligible for the Skill Test will be reimbursed to and fro second class Train fare by shortest route from the place mentioned in the on-line application to Dehradun on production of proof of travel.In case of travel by bus, the actual fare paid by candidate or second class train fare, whichever is less will be reimbursed. If candidate travels by bus, then s/he have to produce bus tickets and if s/he travel by train, s/he have to furnish either the train ticket(s) or PNR Number(s) without which the TA claim will not be admitted. Sleeper class fare will be paid subject to production of railway ticket only.
  • Before appearing for the skill test each candidate’s identity shall be established. At that time all such candidates shall have to mandatorily produce original documents to establish his/her identity along with the call letter. The candidate’s photo identity proof such as PAN Card/Passport/Driving License/ Voter’s Card/ Bank Passbook with photograph/ Photo embossed Credit Card/ AADHAR card with a photograph should be produced in original to the IIRS officials for verification and a copy of the same must be submitted.The candidate’s identity will be verified with respect to his/her details given in the online application. If identity of the candidate is in doubt or failure on the part of the candidate to produce original Photo
    ID, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the skill test.
  • The printout of the online application and the Original Documents/Certificates along with self-attested copies and other items specified in the Call Letter for Skill Test are to be produced at the time of skill test, failing which the candidate would not be allowed to appear in the skill test and also in such cases candidate will not be entitled to receive the TA.
  • Candidates pursued professional course through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible.
  • Only Indian Nationals should apply.
  • Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
  • In case of any dispute on account of interpretation in any version other than English, the English version shall prevail.
  • No interim correspondence will be entertained. In case of any clarification, candidates may mail to recruitment@iirs.gov.in
  • The selected candidates shall be posted at Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun District Uttarakhand. The selected candidates are also liable to be posted in any of the Centers/Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required. For details of ISRO Centers/Units, candidates may visit https://www.isro.gov.in/about-isro/isro-centres. Candidate may have to work on round the clock shift basis depending on the functional requirements.
  • 07/12/2020 (Last date for receipt of on-online applications) will be cut-off date for all purposes like age, qualification, etc.
  • Candidates in their own interest are advised to register online and submit their application well in time before the last date for submission, to avoid
    the possibility of disconnection / inability / failure to log on to the IIRS website on account of heavy load on server. IIRS does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their application within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reasons beyond the control of IIRS .
  • It may be noted that “Government strives to have a workforce that reflects gender balance and women candidates are encouraged to apply”.
  • If any information furnished in the online application is found wrong/false/incomplete, the candidate will NOT be called for Written Test.
  • The Answer Keys will be published on the IIRS Web-site within three working days of the written test.The candidates may raise objections with valid justifications, if any, within 3 days of publishing the answer keys in the web-site, ONLY through the link that shall be provided after the written test.
  • The candidates registered under National Career Services (NCS) portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may visit ISRO website and follow the application procedure as stated in. The appointee are liable to be posted in any of the Centre/ units of ISRO/DOS situated anywhere in India as and when required.

  • The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing is a premier institute for research, higher education and training in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and GPS Technology for Natural Resources, Environmental and Disaster Management under the Indian Department of Space, which was established in the year 1966.It is located in the city of Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
  • Formerly known as Indian Photo-interpretation Institute (IPI), the Institute was founded on 21 April 1966 under the aegis of Survey of India (SOI). It was established with the collaboration of the Government of The Netherlands on the pattern of Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente, formerly known as International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences, The Netherlands. The original idea of setting the Institute came from India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru during his visit to The Netherlands in 1957.
  • The Institute’s building at Kalidas Road, Dehradun was inaugurated on 27 May 1972. Since its founding, the Institute has been playing a key role in capacity building in remote sensing and geoinformatics technology and their applications for the benefit of the user community from India and abroad. Today, it has programmes for all levels of users, i.e. mid-career professionals, researchers, academia, fresh graduates and policy makers.
  • NRSA is closely associated with various programmes of the Department of Space (DOS)/Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), in particular, the Earth Observation Programme, Disaster Management Support and other programmes of national importance. To enable NRSA to carry out its responsibilities in a more effective manner, the Government has after careful consideration, decided to convert it into a Government entity, to be called a National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), a Centre under DOS/ISRO, effective 1 September 2008.
  • Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun has been premier institute responsible for capacity building in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS applications. It has grown manifolds and establish itself as an institute of repute both nationally and internationally. Realising the potential of Earth Observation System and ISRO’s forthcoming initiatives in the areas of Natural Resource Survey, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography, Dr. K.
