General Information:

  • CSIR – North East Institute of Science & Technology, Jorhat, a constituent establishment of CSIR, is a multidisciplinary institute having research areas like Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Materials Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Geological Sciences, etc. This institute is equipped with sophisticated state-of-art analytical and other equipment to carry out research activities in frontier areas of science & technology. Presently a large number of research activities are being carried out in CSIR and externally funded projects. Now, there is a requirement of Project fellows with the following specialization for the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative Phade –II;
  • The candidate will be shortlisted based on experience in the related areas. Shortlisted candidates and the time slot for the interview will be notified via email only. Alternatively, candidates are requested to frequently browse the institute website for all other updates.
  • During selection, due weight-age will be given to the academic performance of the candidates. The candidates should have adequate knowledge of computer.
  • Interested candidates having the above qualifications are requested to send the filled-in Application [Proforma given below], along with requisite certificates to substantiate their qualification, experience, caste, etc. via email to rpbd@neist.res.in, before the last date specified above. Application which is not in proper Proforma and received after last date will not be considered.
  • The interview will be conducted in exclusive online mode and link of interview on MS-Team platform will be shared. Candidates are requested to download MS-Team App in Mobile or MS-Team software in computer,beforehand.
  • The selected candidates are expected to join immediately upon selection and bring with them all ORIGINAL TESTIMONIALS including Marksheets and Certificates and also a Photograph. Discrepancy in the marks and percentage submitted in the application proforma to that of the original marksheets / certificates will failing which their engagement can be withdrawn.
  • Duration: The project completion date may be extended depending upon the grant of the funding agency.
  • Maximum Age: As on date of interview will be taken into consideration. (Relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt of India orders).
  • The engagement will be on purely temporary basis for specific period. It is co-terminus along with the duration of the project and will not confer any right for regularization in the institute.
  • Some selected Project Workers depending on suitability, may be allowed to do his / her Ph D work as per CSIR Guidelines.

  • North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat, Assam, a constituent establishment of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, has been engaged in multidisciplinary R&D work relevant to the country in general and North Eastern Region in particular.
  • TheCSIR- North East Institute of Science and Technology, formerly(RRL) , Jorhat was established in the year 1961 as one of the multidisciplinary laboratories of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research(CSIR) under its Chemical Science Group of laboratories. Its major thrust of R&D activities has been to develop indigeneous technologies by utilising the immense natural wealth of India. The North Eastern Region of the country being bestowed with an abundance of material resources like petroleum, natural Gas, Minerals, Tea as well as aromatic and Medicinal plants and hence the laboratories was targeted to undertake research for development of Know-How for a wide a range of industries and extension works. Over the years, the laboratory has generated more than 100 technologies in the areas of Agrotechnology, Biological and Oil Field Chemicals of which about 40% were of commercial success culminating in setting up of various industries through out the country. The laboratory also developed expertise in the areas like Natural Products Chemistry, drug and drug intermediates, VSK cement, Plant Technology, Agro-technologies, Petroleum Microbiology and Petrochemicals, Crude oil transportation, Paper and Paper Products, beneficiation Chemicals, ecology and environmental studies, Geotechnical investigations, foundation design engineering, soil and building materials etc. The annual turn over of the products produced with RRLtechnologies within the country is estimated to be Rs. 110 crores.
