Candidates must possess a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) from a College of Fisheries under an Agricultural University recognized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, as prescribed. Applicants must be Indian citizens. The Fisheries Extension Officer post carries Pay Level 7, and candidates should refer to Advertisement No. 28/2026 for the applicable salary and allowances.
The minimum age is 21 years as on August 1, 2026. The upper age limit is 37 years for Unreserved Male candidates, 40 years for Unreserved Female candidates, 40 years for BC/EBC candidates and 42 years for SC/ST candidates. BTSC CBT and Selection Process
Both recruitments use a Computer Based Test, but candidates should follow the specific selection provisions of the advertisement for their post.
For the Touring Veterinary Officer post, the CBT consists of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks. The examination is conducted in Hindi and English and has a duration of two hours. One mark is awarded for a correct answer and 0.25 mark is deducted for an incorrect response. The final merit score gives weight to the written examination (75 marks) and eligible contractual work experience (up to 25 marks). Eligible work experience can be considered up to the prescribed maximum of five years. For the Fisheries Extension Officer post, the CBT also consists of 100 objective questions carrying 100 marks, with a duration of two hours. Veterinary Officer applicants should keep their Matriculation certificate ready for proof of date of birth along with the B.V.Sc./B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree certificate and marksheets. Permanent registration with the Bihar Veterinary Council is mandatory and the relevant certificate must be available.
