General Instruction:

  • The following posts are to be filled up through walk in written test/Interview under following time bound research projects at ICMR-National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOH) Ahmedabad. The post is purely temporary, ad-hoc & contractual basis and co-terminus with project.
  • The original certificates may be produced for verification on demand. The application duly signed by the applicant should be submitted along with self-attested copies of the certificates. (a) Proof of Date of Birth (b) Qualification (c) Experience (d) Recent Passport size photograph. Unsigned/ incomplete applications or applications without supportive evidence shall be summarily rejected. Candidates applying for more than one post should provide separate applications for each of the posts applied. Only shortlisted candidates will be allowed for written test/Interview after verification of documents.
  • Qualification & experience required are as per ICMR guidelines; experience shall be counted after acquiring the essential qualification; age limit and experience will be considered as on date of walk-in written test / interview.
  • Benefits of Provident Fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim, Leave Concession etc. are not admissible. The posts are purely temporary, co-terminate with the project, and the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointment/employment under ICMR. ICMR-NIGH, MoEF CC, ICAR or continuation in other project and his/her engagement will be deemed terminated immediately after expiry of the project.

  • Candidates employed in Govt. Service /Semi Govt. /Autonomous Bodies of State/Central Govt. should submit a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer at the time of walk-in written test / Interview.
  • If required, the written examination/test shall be of one (1) hour duration consisting of objective type questions on General Science, General Analytical Ability and knowledge of concerned area.
  • The interested candidates possessing the above essential qualification and experience may report at ICMR- National Institute of Occupational Health, Meghaninagar, Ahmedabad 3800016, Gujarat, India on the dates of the Walk-in-Written Test / Interview mentioned herein. Candidates will not be entertained after 10.30 am under any circumstances.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test / interview / personal discussion.
  • Any further information may be downloaded from ICMR-NIOH website which will be updated from time to time. Date of Walk-in Interview/written test may be changed due to administrative reasons, hence, candidates are advised to check website before appearing for Walk-in Interview/written test.
  • The decision of the Officer-in-Charge. ICMR- National Institute of Occupational Health, Ahmedabad will be final in this regard. Canvassing in any form will be considered as a disqualification.

  • The Indian Council of Medical Research-National Institute of Occupational Health (ICMR-NIOH) has been working for many years towards improving the management of occupational health risks in India.
  • ICMR-NIOH is an occupational health research institute funded by the Government of India that is responsible for helping the national policy makers to develop the most suitable and effective policies for eliminating and reducing cases of serious work-related ill health and disease. The ultimate goal of ICMR-NIOH’s work is to reduce the burden of the occupational diseases that have the greatest negative impact on both public health and the productivity of the economy in India. To achieve this goal, ICMR-NIOH undertakes and oversees multidisciplinary research aimed at developing the most effective technologies and programmes for controlling workers’ exposure to health hazards. Our research enables us to provide the national policy makers, such as the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, with expert advice on the most effective ways of controlling occupational diseases in India.
  • The aim is to help the Government of India to make the most appropriate decisions when developing the national policies for improving occupational health in the country. Another important aspect of our work is developing education programmes for training the country’s doctors and other medical professionals on occupational healthcare.
  • The idea is to boost the doctors’ knowledge of the causes of common work-related diseases in India. This will help to ensure that doctors in Preventing work related disease.
