Applications are invited from the eligible male Indian Citizens who are natives/ residents of the Union Territory of Puducherry for the Direct Recruitment to the post of Fireman (Group-C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in the Fire Service Department, Puducherry as detailed below:-

The vacancies notified are existing as well as anticipated. However, the Government reserves the right either to enhance or to reduce the number of vacancies notified depending upon the actual requirement at the time of selection and also to cancel the recruitment process. No interim inquiry will be entertained.
MODE OF RECRUITMENT:
The applicants will be notified in the website https://recruitment.py.gov.in with a call letter to appear for the following test. The date and venue of the test will be indicated therein.
Physical Measurements / Physical Standards:
| Height | Not less than 165 cms. |
| Chest | 81-86 cms., with minimum expansion of 5 cms. |
| Weight | Body Mass Index (BMI should be 18.50 to 29.9 kg/M2) |

Only the candidates who possess the prescribed physical standards will be admitted for Physical Efficiency Test.
Physical Efficiency Test:

Note: (a) All the above events are compulsory.
- Each stage is a qualifying stage by itself for the next stage i.e., only the candidates who qualify in Stage-I will be eligible for Stage-Il and so on.
- Ex-Servicemen will not be required to pass the Physical Efficiency Test. They will be eligible to appear for the written test if they possess the minimum physical measurements/ standards and pass the medical examination.
(iii) Written Test:
- Only the candidates who possess the prescribed Physical Standards and qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test will undergo Written Test. The questions for the written test will be oi objective type, generally of S.S.L.C. standard. The question paper will be for 100 marks of two hours duration having 100 questions carrying one mark each, consisting of

Negative mark of 0.25 will be awarded for every wrong answer and multiple answers will be treated as a wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this aspect in mind while answering the questions.
- The question paper for the Written Test will be bilingual i.e., in English and in any one of the regional languages, namely Tamil or Telugu or Malayalam. Therefore, the candidates should indicate the choice of the language in which they prefer to write the examination, in the online application.
- Answering would be in the form of shading the correct answer by using BLACK BALL POINT PEN only and the applicants are permitted to take the carbon copy of their answer sheet along with their question booklet.
- The answer kev will be published in the recruitment website https://recruitment.py.gov.in and also in the official website of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms viz., https://dpar.py.gov.in after completion of examination process.
