General Information:

  • Online applications are invited from bonafide citizens of India for selection of candidates for recruitment to 40(forty) vacancies [SC-01,ST-21,PH-08 & UR-10] in the subject of Bengali, English, Political Science, Education, History, Sanskrit, Human Physiology, Zoology, Botany permanent posts of Assistant Professor, Group-A Gazetted, Government (General) Degree Colleges under the Education(Higher) Department, Government of Tripura in the scale of Revised Pay of Rs. 57,700( 57,700- 1,82,400/- in the Academic Level-10 of the Pay Matrix of 7th CPC, subject to revision by the Govt.
  • Candidates will have to submit application through Online Application Portal only. The Commission will not entertain any hard copy application. Before submission of online application, read carefully the instruction to candidates.
  • Online Application Portal will be available on Commission’s website from 18.02.2021 to 22.03.2021 (5.30 PM). Before applying for the post, an applicant shall register his/her bio- data particulars through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) on the Commission’s Website viz. tpsc.tripura.gov.in. Once applicant registers his/her particulars, a User ID is generated and sent to his/her registered mobile number and email ID. Applicants need to apply for the post using the OTPR User ID through the Commission’s website.
  • Applicants should avoid submitting multiple applications. However, if due to any unavoidable circumstances, any applicant submits multiple applications then he/she must ensure that the application with latest Receipt Number is complete in all respect.
  • In case of multiple applications, the application with latest Receipt Number shall only be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one Receive Number shall not be adjusted against any other Receipt Number.
  • Candidates are required to submit self attested copy of certificates in support of their claims regarding Age, Educational Qualifications, Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Experience Certificates, API ( as per Annexure B) and others, if mentioned in the application in the receipt section of the TPSC. Submission of such documents will be allowed up to 7(seven) days of closing date of receipt of Online application i.e. within 31.03.2021, failing which candidature will be treated as cancelled. The Commission will not entertain any application thereafter.
  • Applicants must be in possession of the prescribed minimum qualification(s). Mere issue of admission certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. On scrutiny of documents, if a candidate found ineligible as per terms & condition of the Advertisement (including prescribed Recruitment fee) his /her candidature will be rejected.
  • Applicants must be in possession of the prescribed minimum qualification(s). Mere issue of admission certificate to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission. On scrutiny of documents, if a candidate found ineligible as per terms & condition of the Advertisement (including prescribed Recruitment fee) his /her candidature will be rejected.
  • SC/ST Candidates of other States are not recognized by the Govt. of Tripura.
  • If a candidate submits incomplete application in respect of terms & condition of the Advertisement and without requisite recruitment fee, his/her candidature will be rejected.
  • SC/ST Candidates of other States (not recognized by the Govt. of Tripura) should apply for unreserved vacancy as general candidate along with recruitment fee prescribed for general candidates
  • ‘No- objection’ Certificate from the present employer if the application is not routed through proper channel and even for those employed after submission of the application to the Commission. In that no objection certificate, it is to be clearly mentioned that your employer has ‘No-objection’ if you are considered for recruitment to the post for which you have applied for.
  • Decision of the Commission as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate at any stage of the selection process shall be final.

  • Tripura Public Service Commission,publicly known as TPSC is a state government agency of Tripura state, constituted under the Article 315 for conducting civil services examinations and competitive examination purposes. The commission is responsible for recruitment to various civil services and departmental posts at state level.
  • TPSC came into existence after eight months when Tripura state was formed on 21 January 1972. After being served without its constitutional body for eight months, the commission came into existence on 30 October, 1972 under the Article 315, a provision of Constitution of India.
  • The provision for constitution of Public Service Commission was first incorporated under Article 96C of the Government of India Act,1919. Thereafter in 1923 ‘Lee Commission’ was constituted for the purpose of formulating the principles/terms and conditions of Public Service Commission. Subsequently, as per recommendations of the ‘Lee Commission’ Federal Public Service Commission was established in India for the first time, on 1st October, 1926. Lee Commission also recommended for establishment of Provincial Public Service Commission its statehood on 21st January,1972 and Tripura Public Service Commission was established on 30th October, 1972, under the provisions of Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Sri G.P.Bagchi was the first Chairman and Sri I. K. Roy was the first Member of the Tripura Public Service Commission. The Commission is, at present, located at the old Assembly House of Tripura, at Akhaura Road, Agartala
  • Subject to the provisions of this article, there shall be a Public Service Commission for the Union and a Public Service Commission for each State. Two or more States may agree that there shall be one Public Service Commission for that group of States, and if a resolution to that effect is passed by the House or, where there are two Houses, by each House of the Legislature of each of those States, Parliament may by law provide for the appointment of a Joint State Public Service Commission (referred to in this Chapter as Joint Commission) to serve the needs of those States. Any such law as aforesaid may contain such incidental and consequential provisions as may be necessary or desirable for giving effect to the purposes of the law. The Public Service Commission for the Union, if requested so to do by the Governor of a State, may, with the approval of the President, agree to serve all or any of the needs of the State.
    References in this Constitution to the Union Public Service Commission or a State Public Service Commission shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed as references to the Commission serving the needs of the Union or, as the case may be, the State as respects the particular matter in question.
  • Provided that as nearly as may be one-half of the members of every Public Service Commission shall be persons who at the dates of their respective appointments have held office for at least ten years either under the Government of India or under the Government of a State, and in computing the said period of ten years any period before the commencement of this Constitution during which a person has held office under the Crown in India or under the Government of an Indian State shall be included.
