General Information:

  • Sports Authority of India invites online applications for Doctors on contract basis.
  • Sports Authority of India (SAI) is an autonomous organization under the Administrative control of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports with its Head office at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003.
  • SAI has established 23 National Centres of Excellence across the country for training of young and elite athletes in various disciplines. These NCOEs are funded for several items inter-alia Sports Science staff through Khelo India Scheme of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. To strengthen the NCOEs SAI invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement in the following disciplines on contract basis at various SAI Centers.
  • A recognized Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
  • Online applications are invited from Indian citizens both male and female, who have passed their final MBBS examination along with completion of 1year compulsory internship, on contract basis in Sports Authority of India.
  • The applicant must possess medical qualification included in First/Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of IMC Act 1956. The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/MCI. Post graduate degree/diploma holders recognized by State Medical Council/MCI/NBE can also apply.
  • Only those candidates who have completed their internship on or before 30 Jun 2020 can apply.
  • The candidate has to apply only online through the link https://sportsauthorityofindia.nic.in/saijobs.
  • The candidate should scan his photograph and specimen signature in JPG format. The digital size of file should not exceed 300 KB each and must not be less than 20 KB. Minimum resolution of the file should be 350 pixels (Width) X 350 pixels (Height) and maximum 1000 pixels (Width) X 1000 pixels (Height). Bit Depth of image file should be 24 bit.
  • Proof of Date of Birth.

  • The certificate uploaded must be one issued by the Competent Authority (i.e. University or other examining body) awarding the particular qualification.
  • CALL LETTERS FOR INTERVIEW: The Call Letters for interview shall be communicated electronically in the valid and functional email id provided by the candidate during online registration.
  • CANDIDATES SHOULD CHECK THE WEBSITE AND THEIR REGISTERED EMAIL REGULARLY FOR UPDATES REGARDING INTERVIEW DATES AND OTHER RELEVANT DETAILS. ANY VARIATION IN THE DETAILS PROVIDED AND DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED ONLINE WILL LEAD TO REJECTION OF THE CANDIDATE. ANY UPDATES AND NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE HOSTED ON THE WEBSITE.
  • The responsibility of ensuring genuineness of the certificate lies completely with the candidate by self-attestation. SAI reserves the right to discard experience certificates which do not provide correct details as asked above. Website links could be provided to ascertain genuineness.
  • Any experience claimed during the course of completion of the degree will not be counted. Any
    experience which is not relevant to the above discipline /fields will not be counted.
  • Candidates will be called for the interview based on the shortlisting criteria as mentioned above. Hence mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not entail that candidate will be called for the interview.
  • The Candidates should note that their candidature at all the stages will be purely provisional,subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any stage before or after Interview, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions; their candidature will be cancelled by the SAI.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRODUCE THE ORIGINALS OF THE CERTIFICATES MENTIONED ABOVE AT THE TIME OF JOINING. FAILURE TO SUBMIT THE REQUIRED CERTIFICATES IN ORIGINAL AT THE TIME OF PHYSICAL JOINING WILL LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF CANDIDATURE.
  • Initial contractual engagement will be for a period of three years. The tenure can be further extended by two years for a maximum period of five years on the basis of satisfactory performance. The tenure is subject to continuation of Khelo India Scheme.
  • The candidate must not have attained 45 years of age as on 31 Dec 2020. The date of birth, accepted by the SAI is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. No other document relating to age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extracts from Municipal Corporation, Service records and the like will be accepted. The expression Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate in this part of the Instruction include the alternative certificates mentioned above.
  • No TA /DA shall be admissible for joining the assignment or on its completion. No other facilities like DA, Accommodation, Residential Phone, Conveyance /Transport, Personal Staff, Medical reimbursement, HRA, and LTC etc. would be admissible to them.
  • Candidates must apply within the scheduled time period, no application received after the last date shall be entertained.
  • Decision of SAI in all matters regarding eligibility, selection and posting would be final and binding on all candidates. No representation or correspondence will be entertained by SAI in this regard.
  • SAI reserves the right to modify/alter/restrict/enlarge/cancel the recruitment process, if need so arises without issuing any further notice or assigning any further notice/any reasons thereafter. The decision of the SAI will be final and no appeal will be entertained against this issue. The
    panel made by SAI can also be utilized by various other Govt. organization under their control which are supported under various schemes of SAI / Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
  • In case of any dispute, jurisdiction of Court at New Delhi only will be applicable.

  • The Sports Authority of India (SAI), a successor organization of the IXth Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982, was set up as a Society registered of Societies Act, 1860 in pursuance of the Resolution No. 1-1/83/SAI dated 25th January 1984 of the Department of Sports, Govt. of India with the objective of promotion of Sports and Games as detailed in the Resolution. It is also entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining and utilizing, on the behalf of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the following Stadia in Delhi which were constructed/renovated for the IX Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982 :-

  • Subsequently, in order to adopt an integrated approach towards promotion and development of sports consciousness, the erstwhile Society for National Institutes of Physical Education & Sports (SNIPES) consisting of NSNIS Patiala at its centers and the two LNCPEs located at Gwalior and Thiruvananthapuram were merged with SAI w.e.f. 1st May 1987. The LNCPE Gwalior was however, delinked from SAI in September 1995 on attaining the status of a “Deemed University”.
  • The Sports Authority of India originated with the committee formed to host the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi. On 25 January 1984, “Sports Authority of India” was established as a registered society by the “Department of Sports”” of Government of India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. On 1 May 1987, the “Society for National Institute of Physical Education and Sports” (SNIPES) was merged with SAI, and as a result, the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports(NSNIS) at Patiala and its allied centres at Bhopal, Bangalore, Kolkata and Gandhinagar and the Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education at Thiruvananthapuram also came under SAI. The Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports at Patiala and the Lakshmibai National University of Physical Education at Thiruvananthapuram became its academic wings. In 1995, Lakshmibai National University of Physical Education at Gwalior became a separate “Deemed University.
