General Information:

  • Age relaxation will be admissible to SC/ST/OBC/PWD & Women candidates as per CSIR/Funding Agency Guidelines.
  • Suitable Candidates may be empaneled for future requirement if any, under different projects
  • The date for determining age/qualification and experience shall be the date of interview.
  • The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the aforementioned projects. The engagement in these projects will not confer any right implicit or explicit on the candidate for consideration for regularization against any CSIR/CDRI post(s).
  • The number of positions against the various projects can vary at the time of selection depending on the requirement of the institute.
  • Extension beyond two years / movement from one level to next shall be subject to performance review by a committee appointed by Director.
  • No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
  • Eligible candidates are required to report for the Interview at 9:00 A.M on 30.01.2020 Candidates reporting after 10:00 A.M will not be entertained. The eligible candidates may appear before the Selection Committee for interview on the date and time mentioned above at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, B.S. 10/1, Sector 10, Jankipuram Extension, Sitapur Road, Lucknow-226031. Eligible candidates must bring with them a duly filled application (which can be downloaded from our website www.cdri.res.in), with original & attested copies of mark sheets/certificates etc. along with a recent passport size photograph.
  • Candidates who fulfils the requisite qualification and age will be allowed to appear before the Selection Committee for interview. Written test in the subject area will be held, if required, to shortlist candidates for the interview on the same day depending upon the number of candidates. The interview may be continued for the subsequent days also, therefore outsider candidates are requested to make their own arrangements accordingly.

  • CSIR- Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), a premier drug research institute of India was inaugurated on 17th Feb 1951 by the then Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru with a vision to strengthen and advance the field of drug research and development in the country. The Institute has made significant accomplishments in the pursuit of its mission to New Drugs & Technologies for affordable healthcare for all, generation of knowledge base and nurturing future leaders for healthcare sector. Today, it has become a unique model for modernized drug research in India – having everything under one roof, from synthesis, screening, development studies, process up-scaling to clinical studies. Unique achievements of the Institute includes discovery and development of 12 new drugs, of which, Arteether (Brand Name: E-mal), BESEB (Brand Name: Memory Sure), Centchroman (Brand Name: Saheli) are currently in market; transferred more than 130 indigenous technologies to the pharmaceutical companies, a significant contribution in the metamorphosis of the Indian Pharma Industry. So far, more than 10,000 research articles have been published by the Institute in peer reviewed journals. Obtained m ore than 350 Indian patents and 90 international patents; and produced more than 1000 Ph.D’s. Several of its Alumni have occupied highest positions in national and international academic institutions, biotech and pharma industries.
  • The Central Drug Research Institute is a multidisciplinary research laboratory in Lucknow, India, employing scientific personnel from various areas of biomedical sciences. Prof. Tapas Kumar Kundu, a renowned molecular biologist, academician and recipient of coveted Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology award, is the incumbent Director of Central Drug Research Institute.
  • The Central Drug Research Institute was one of the first laboratories to be established in India right after its independence. It is among the thirty nine laboratories that are functioning under the aegis of the council of scientific and Industrial Research Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of India. The research institute was formally inaugurated on 17 February 1951 by Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru.
  • For administrative and scientific purposes the Institute’s manpower has been grouped into 17 research and development divisions and several divisions providing technical and scientific support. The following divisions of are involved in research and development:
