General Condition:

  • Advanced Technology Platforms Centre (ATPC) is a major research resource of the NCR Biotech Science Cluster (NBSC) established by Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB). The ATPC is a technology support initiative to promote multidisciplinary research for health innovation and comprises of high throughput technology platforms such as, genomics and proteomics, macromolecular structure determination, high-resolution microscopy, protein expression and purification etc. The ATPC offers these high-end technologies to the members of the NBSC as well as other academic and industry researchers in a revenue generation model to support its financial sustenance. Presently, the following technology platforms are operational: Genomics, Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry, Microscopy including Electron Microscopy and Super Resolution Confocal Microscopy, Flow Cytometry, High Content Screening, Animal Experimentation, and Molecular Interaction platforms to study Macromolecular Interactions.
  • The appointment will initially be for a period of six months which may be extended based on a satisfactory performance evaluation, need of the Centre and availability of funds.
  • The appointment is purely contractual which may be terminated by either party by giving one month’s notice. This contract appointment gives no right for regularization of service in RCB.
  • The experience requirement specified shall be the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post.
  • All educational, professional and technical qualifications should be from a recognized Board/University and should be produced at the time of interview, if shortlisted, failing which the applications are liable to be rejected.
  • Persons working in Govt. or Public Sector Undertaking and willing to work on deputation should apply through proper channel or produce ‘No-Objection Certificate’ at the time of interview.
  • Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
  • Mere fulfilment of the minimum prescribed qualification and experience will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for interview. Only the candidates short listed by a duly constituted Screening Committee will be called for interview. In case a large number of applications are received for each post, the Screening Committee may limit the number of candidates to those possessing higher qualification or alternatively may arrange written screening test for short-listing the candidates. The decision of the Centre in this regard will be final. No interim inquiries in this regard will be entertained.
  • The last date of application is 25 March 2021. Shortlisted candidates shall be informed by 1 April 2021. The interviews shall be conducted on 7 April 2021.
  • Interested candidates with qualifications may apply online for concerned posts as per given online application form. No need to send print to Regional Centre for Biotechnology at this stage. Eligible candidates will be intimated about further proceedings. Keeping a print copy for future use is advised.

  • The mission of the Centre is to create opportunities for multi-disciplinary education, training and research in biotechnology. The vision is to produce human resource tailored to drive innovation in biotechnology, particularly in areas of new opportunities and also to fill talent gap in deficient areas.
  • The Centre has been recognized as an ‘Institution of National Importance’ through an act of Indian Parliament, for biotechnology education, training and research. The Centre is also regarded as a “Category II Centre” in terms of “the principles and guidelines for the establishment and functioning of UNESCO Institutes and Centres”.
  • Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an ‘Institution of National Importance’ providing education, training and research is established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The Centre is focused on cooperatively working towards shared biotechnology growth in the Asia-Pacific Region. Regional interactions in biotechnology will promote co-operation amongst the countries to develop necessary infrastructure and capacity building for economic benefit of our societies. The Centre would be beneficial in developing knowledge rich, highly skilled human resource to be employed globally. RCB is a part of the Biotech Science Cluster (BSC) and operates in synergy with the other institutions in the Cluster.
  • The Government of India and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) signed an agreement in New Delhi on 14 July 2006 for the establishment of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an institution of education, training and research with a strong focus on capacity building. RCB was established by the Government of India through the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology under the auspices of UNESCO as a category-II institution. The mandate of RCB is to conduct research and impart education and training in the field of biotechnology.
