General Conditions:

  • Mere fulfilling of the minimum qualification and experience requirements shall not vest any right in the candidate for being called for written examination.
  • All the applications received within due date in response to this advertisement shall be considered for short-listing by a Screening Committee and only the candidate recommended by the screening committee will be called for, for appearing in the written examination. The decision of the Director, IFB on short-listing will be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
  • If a candidate applies for more than one post, his/her application will be rejected. Application must choose only one subject where he is most suited. It should accompany with requisite fee, copy of testimonial etc.
  • For each post specific qualification is required. Therefore, your candidature is considered for only one post for which you are most eligible and in which you have appeared for the exam. Therefore, specify the subject in which you would like to appear for the exam.
  • The envelope containing the application should be superscripted as “Application for the Post of and S. No. of the post “. The envelope without superscription of the post applied for will not be entertained for further scrutiny.
  • Govt. servants applying for the above posts should forward their applications “Through Proper Channel” and should enclose “No objection Certificate” obtained from their appointing authority. They may send an advance copy or the application by the due date, if they so desire. The forwarding authority should ensure that in the event of selection of the official, he should be in a position to relieve/spare the official within the time specified in the offer of appointment.
  • Application fee: Non-refundable Demand Draft of Rs.300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) drawn from any nationalized Bank in favour of the “Director, Institute of Forest Biodiversity” payable at Hyderabad should be enclosed along with application. No other mode of payment of application fee is acceptable. However, SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted from payment of application fee as per Govt. of India guidelines.
  • The application duly completed in all respects shall be submitted along with the self-attested photocopies of certificates of educational and technical qualification, age proof, claim of belonging to SC/ST/OBC & experience etc.
  • The candidates are required to send TWO additional and identical photograph separately along with application form, with their name written in capital letters, name of the post on the reverse of the photographs.
  • The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date for receipt of applications i.e. 2016 April ,2020
  • Interested/eligible candidates may submit their applications to “The Director, Institute of Forest Biodiversity, Dulapally, ICompally 5.0., Hyderabad — 500 100′ THROUGH POST ONLY so as to reach on or before 20111 April, 2020, which would also be the crucial date for determining the age limit.
  • This institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss during the postal transit.
  • The candidates selected on direct recruitment will be governed by the provisions of the New Pension Scheme introduced by the Govt. of India w.e.f. 01-01-2004.
  • Relaxation in upper age Limit is applicable as per the norms of Govt. of India to the employees already working in central government departments. No upper age limit for the officials already working in ICFRE and its Institutes/Centres.
  • No correspondence and interim enquiries will be entertained in any manner.
  • Canvasing in any form by the applicant will disqualify his/her candidature.
  • The Director, IFB, Hyderabad reserves the right to increase or decrease the posts or not to fill up any or all the advertised posts without assigning any reason.
  • Legal disputes if any shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Competent Court at Hyderabad.
  • Those who qualified written exam will attend to skill test on technical matters in the subject and computer hands as experience is essential.
  • Each correct answer will carry one mark. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each incorrect/wrong answer.
  • In case of equal marks/ tie up marks in the written examination, general rules will be followed to finalize the merit list.

  • INSTITUTE OF FOREST BIODIVERSITY (IFB) located at Dulapally, Hyderabad was initially started as “Advanced Centre for Biotechnology and Mangrove Forests” during July 1997 and later on renamed as “Forest Research Centre, Hyderabad” on 9th July, 1997. In 2012 the centre was upgraded to Institute and renamed as “Institute of Forest Biodiversity”. The institute is sprawled over 100 acres campus with well-equipped research infrastructure. Besides the main campus, the institute has one field station at Mulugu and one Forest Research Centre for Coastal Ecosystem at Visakhapatnam.
  • To attain excellence in conservation of Forest Biodiversity and sustainable utilization of Forest Genetic Resources for enhancing productivity and livelihood support.
  • To pursue focussed research on forest biodiversity in order to develop strategies for conservation and sustainable utilization of forest genetic resources, eco-restoration of stressed sites, climate change mitigation and adaptation.
  • The Institute is mandated to carry out research on conservation and sustainable utilization of forest biodiversity, with an emphasis on Eastern Ghats, Mangroves and Coastal Ecology
  • The Director, appointed by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), is responsible for day-to-day administration and implementation of programmes.
  • At present, there are 7 scientists and 3 IFS officers engaged in active research and extension programmes. All scientific staffs have extensive research background and possess expertise in handling multi-disciplinary projects. In addition to the scientific personnel, there are 17 technical and 27 administrative support staffs.
