General Instruction:
- National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Guwahati (NIPER-G) is an autonomous institute of National importance and the first national pharma institute in NE India set up by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India by an act of parliament, to impart high quality Education & Research in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Institute intends to fill the following Positions under DBT sponsored project titled “Establishment of GMP accredited Pilot Scale extraction facilities for development of phytopharmaceutical products from the Medicinal Plants of NE India” (GAP-133).
- Candidates of Indian nationality can only apply for these posts.
- Age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled/ women candidates and upto 3 years for OBC.
- Project duration is for 3 years. However, the selected candidates will be offered for one year and will be extendable based on the performance.
- Interested candidates are requested to fill the online application. The link of online application will be activated on 6th March, 2021 and will be available on our website (http://www.niperguwahati.ac.in). It is mandatory to fill the application online, and no other form of application will be accepted. Candidates are requested to arrange the softcopies of all the required documents before filling the application.
- Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and eligibility, experience criteria etc. laid down in the advertisement before applying for the above post. Since all the applications will be screened on the basis of data submitted by the candidate in the online application form, the candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage during the recruitment and selection process, it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature will be rejected.
- Application once submitted cannot be altered / resubmitted, under any circumstances. Further, no request with respect to making changes in any data/ particular entered by the candidate in the application will be entertained, once the application is submitted successfully by Email.
- Incomplete application or those without relevant supporting documents (self-attested copies of Date of birth/Degrees/ Certificates/ Mark sheets/Experience Certificates/documents, etc.) will be rejected.
- On the recommendation of the Screening/Selection Committee, the competent authority may relax all or any of the requirements related to age and experience in exceptionally meritorious cases.
- Fulfilment of qualifications and experience is an essential requirement. The candidate will be called for personal interview or stated above while progressing ahead in the stage(s) of recruitment / selection, following the standards in general. As stated, the Institute is free to set the benchmark and call only the eligible candidates for the personal interview either by online or physical depend on the prevailing situation of COVID. Further, NIPER Guwahati also reserves the right NOT to fill any the post advertised, in the event or exigency so decided.

- In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of clauses in any version of this Advertisementother than English, the English version available on the NIPER-G Website shall prevail.
- The current positions are under contractual and are purely temporary in nature and same is renewable depending upon performance and mutual consent for every year. The candidate will have no right to claim for regularization. All appointments are contractual in nature and on fixed/consolidated pay as mentioned in the respective columns of each position.
- The candidates are required to submit the application along with relevant certificates like Date of birth certificate, degree, Post-graduation, experience certificates, caste certificate (only for reserved candidates) as well as GPAT/GATE/NET etc. on or before 25.03.2021 up to 05:00 p.m. and hard copies of the filled application should reach to the following address of NIPER Guwahati on or before 31st March 2021 .

- National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, S.A.S. Nagar (NIPER S.A.S. Nagar), also known as NIPER Mohali, is the Topmost Pharmaceutical research institute in India & the main campus of the group of seven NIPER institutes, under India’s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. The institute offers Masters and Doctoral degrees in pharmaceutical sciences. As an Institute of National Importance it plays an important role in the Human Resource Development for the ever-growing Indian Pharmaceutical industry, which has been in the forefront of India’s science based industries with wide-ranging capabilities in this important field of drug manufacture.The institute offers a 2-year PG degree & 4-5 year PhD Courses in 13 disciplines;
- (M Pharm. Clinical Research, Pharmacy Practice), (MS Pharm. Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Natural products, Biotechnology, Pharmacoinformatics, Traditional medicine and Pharmaceutics),( M Tech. Pharmaceutical Technology & Process Chemistry(PTPC))and MBA (Pharm.).
- NIPER offers Masters and Doctoral programs in various fields of the pharmaceutical sciences.
- The course duration of Masters programs is four semesters, while the doctoral programs typically take six to ten semesters depending on the subject area of research. A scholar has to take a minimum number of credits offered from various departments depending on the program and branch of study. The Research, its presentation, and defense carry their own credits reflected in the final Cumulative Graded Point Average (CGPA).
- Every year in June and July NIPER conducts national level entrance examinations for admissions to its M.S.(Pharm)/MTech/M.Pharm., MBA(Pharm.) and PhD programs. Candidates interested in MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) and the doctoral programs are further screened by personal interview. The candidates are required to have qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or now Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) in a suitable subject area, although exceptions are allowed for some applicants/programs. Now GATE in Pharmacy discipline has been replaced by GPAT and pharmacy graduate has to qualify the GPAT. Exam for doctoral program is subject and/or department specific. For doctoral studies, normally the PI has sufficient funding to support the student, but in its absence a fellowship via the National Eligibility Test conducted by the University Grants Commission or such student support schemes makes the applicant’s case strong.Here most of the masters courses include one year project work which is in the second year. In this second year of laboratories work,students gets exposure to quality research work and thus gets the skills to continue in research field in future by enrolling into various PHD programs at national level institutes like CSIR & Mostly in prestigious Foreign Universities.
- NIPER functions under the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. The president of the Republic of India is the visitor of the institute. Its policy architecture is framed and reviewed by a board of governors which includes eminent academicians, members of the parliament and entrepreneurs. The institute is represented by a director, who is also the chief academic and executive officer.
