General Information:
- The following positions under the project titled Health Technology Assessment-Resource Centre funded by Department of Health Research (DHR), Govt. of India in the Dept. of Preventive and Social Medicine, JIPMER to be filled purely on temporary basis for a period of ONE YEAR (With a possibility of extension up to 3 years based on performance). Panel of recommended candidates shall be shortlisted after written test followed by interview and they will be engaged in the present and future vacancies of project as per requirement from time to time.
- Interested candidates are requested to send their 2 page CV to the email ID: sitanshukar@jipmer.edu.in on or before 20/01/2020. The date of interview is tentatively scheduled in the last week of January 2020, and the exact date will be notified to the applicants through email. Please be informed that an applicant can apply to two or more posts , but he/she must send separate application for each post. However, selection of candidates to various posts will be based on the recommendations of the selection committee.
- Validity of the short list will be valid for six months from the date of publication and renewable accordingly.
- Qualification and experience should be in relevant discipline/field and from an institute of repute. Experience should have been gained after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
- Qualification, experience, other terms and conditions may be relaxed/ altered at the discretion of the Project Investigator.
- Upper age limit may be relaxed as per Govt.of India rules.
- The posts are purely on contract basis for an external sponsored project, and no claim for any other regular post in JIPMER/DHPJICMR shall be entertained.
- Valid email id and mobile number is compulsory.
- Consolidated salary of the post may vary from time ‘to time. No other allowance/ facilities other than consolidated salary shall be extended.
- Decision of the selection committee will be final.
- No TA/ DA will be paid for the interview.
- Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
- Submission of wrong or false information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any stage.
- If performance of the appointee is not found satisfactory by the investigator, appointment can be terminated at any time without any notice.
- The appointee may be relieved from the current job position, with one month prior notice, failing to do so may be held responsible for paying one month salary.

- The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) is a medical school located at Pondicherry, the capital of the Union Territory of Puducherry, in India. JIPMER is an Institute of National Importance (INI) and a tertiary care referral hospital that is under the direct administrative control of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India with autonomyto run its internal administration.
- JIPMER, spread over a campus of 195 acres (0.79 km2), has about 230 faculty, 360 resident physicians and over 3,000 nursing, administrative and support staff. Every year it admits 150 undergraduate students and 200 postgraduate students.[citation needed] The year 2019-20 saw over 24 lakh out patient visits, 3.5 lakh admissions, and 70,000 operations performed at JIPMER.
- The erstwhile French India established the Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery to train French citizens in Pondichéry.[5] It was one of the earliest institutions of tropical medicine and the teaching staff consisted of surgeons and doctors of the French navy and troupes colones. Students who were trained here were granted a diploma called Médicin Locale that allowed them to practice medicine in the colonial territories. The college then was located in the heart of the Pondicherry, opposite Le place de Gaulle, which is now the Legislative Assembly Hall.
