Education Qualification:
Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology approved by AERB from a recognized Institute/University OR Degree in Physics/Chemistry/Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences with PG diploma(two years course) in Medical Radiation and Isotope Technology(DMRIT) approved by AERB from a recognized university/Institution.

General Conditions:
- Interested and eligible candidates may attend the Written test to be held at 08.30.A.M on 15.03.2019 at Academic Centre, JIPMER, Puducherry-06, along with i) filled in application in the prescribed format (appended) ii) the following certificates in original and an Self-attested copy thereof and iii) Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Director,JIPMER, Puducherry payable at State Bank of India, JIPMER Branch (02238),Puducherry-605006.
- The period of contractual engagement will be initially for a period of 89 days and the extension may be granted if required by the administration for the further periods.
- Application Fee: Rs.500/- for UR & OBC and Rs.250 for SC & ST. No fee for PwD candidates.
- No TA/DA will be paid for the Written Test.
- The Income Tax or any other tax liable to be deducted, as per the prevailing rules will be deducted at source before effecting the payment, for which the Department will issue TDS Certificate/s.
- The contractually engaged persons will not have any claim for permanent or regular employment in this Institute as this is purely short term temporary contractual engagement and will remain valid up to contractual period for which the engagement is approved on each occasion.
- The contractually engaged persons will not be eligible to get official accommodation/quarters allotment within the campus as applicable to the other regular employees of this Institute.
- The contractually engaged persons shall in no case represent or give opinion or advice to others in any matter which is adverse to the interest of the Institute.
- Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
- The prescribed qualification is minimum and mere possessing the same does not entitle any candidate for selection.
- The contractually engaged persons may have also to work in shifts and can be posted at any place in JIPMER.
- The contractually engaged persons are expected to conform to the rules of conduct and discipline as applicable to the institute employees.
- The contractually engaged persons should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.
- In case any information given or declaration by the candidate is found to be false or if the candidate has willfully suppressed any material information relevant to his/her appointment,he/she will liable to be removed from the contractual engagement and to any action taken as deemed fit by the appointing authority.
- The decision of the competent authority regarding selection of candidates will be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard.
- The Competent Authority also reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation and changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without assigning any reason or giving notice. The appointee may be relieved from the current job position with one month prior notice; failing to do so may be hold responsible for paying one month salary.
- All disputes will be subject to jurisdictions of Court of Law at Puducherry.

- Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) can trace its origins to the ‘Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry’ established by the French Government in 1823. In 1956 foundation for new medical college was laid and in 1964, hospital was inaugurated. JIPMER became an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008. It is an institution established for teaching, research and patient care in the area of health. JIPMER spreads over 192 acres. The institution houses one administrative block, one academic centre, one nursing college, seven hospital blocks, seven accessory services buildings and four residential complexes. 12 broad types of medical, nursing and allied health science courses covering all disciplines in healthcare from basic to super speciality training are conducted.
- JIPMER is one among the very few institutions in the country which is providing teaching from undergraduate to superspeciality & sub-specialties, conducting path breaking research and providing specialty care of high order. The model of providing free specialty health care while maintaining quality and safety makes JIPMER a unique model in the country. JIPMER’s success in providing best treatment even to the least affordable in the society makes it a model of speciality care delivery of the future. JIPMER continues to rank among the top best five medical schools in the country. JIPMER is witnessing expansion in the form of new campuses like JIPMER Karaikkal, JIPMER outreach centre at Yanam apart from the soon to be commissioned screening OPD block and superspeciality extention block. Conceptual plans for Puducherry second campus for Institute of organ transplantation and Institute of advanced trauma and rehabilitation were initiated during this period.
- Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) can trace its origins to the ‘Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry’ established by the French Government in 1823.
- The college was located in the modified buildings of the High Court, which is now the Legislative Assembly Hall.
- In 1956, The Ambassador of France laid the foundation stone of our ‘new’ medical college that was located on the outskirts of Pondicherry town.
- In the wake of the ‘de facto’ transfer of Pondicherry to the Government of India, the college was briefly named Dhanvantri Medical College, before being upgraded to a Regional Postgraduate Centre under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (DGHS), Government of India and renamed JIPMER.
- In July 2008, JIPMER was given the status of an Institution of National Importance by an Act of Parliament, on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. The increase in financial outlay has been translated into an all-round development of the institution with an increase in the number of staff, students, and services.
- On 15 October 2008, the former President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam along with Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss inaugurated the super-specialty block, the trauma care center, and the auditorium and dedicated JIPMER to the nation as an institution of national importance.
- The present expansion of JIPMER (Phase II) has seen the development of the JIPMER Women and Children’s Hospital, the JIPMER Academic Centre, the new hostel complex for undergraduates and postgraduates and a common wellness center including a gymnasium, dining hall and other amenities.
