General Instructions:

  • The above vacancy is now in existence. The list of selected candidates published by the Commission in pursuance of this Notification shall remain in force for a minimum period of One year and a maximum period of three years provided that the list will not continue to be in force if a new Ranked List after the minimum period of expiry of one year is published. Candidates will be advised against the vacancy shown above and for all the vacancies reported during the period of currency of the Ranked list.
  • The Kerala Public Service Commission shall have the power to cancel the advice for appointment of any candidate to the above post, if it is subsequently found that such advice was made under some mistake. On such cancellation the appointing authority shall terminate the service of candidate, provided that, the cancellation of advice for appointment by the Commission and subsequent termination of service of the candidate by the appointing authority shall be made within the period of probation or 240 days from the date of joining duty , whichever is earlier.
  • 18-36 Only candidates born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Candidates belonging to Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation.
  • The provisional hands working in the above concern will be given age relaxation to the extent of their provisional service put in subject to a maximum of Five years from the upper age limit provided they were within the prescribed age limit on the date of their first appointment in the above concern. But the regular employees of the concern are not eligible for the above concession for further appointment. The provisional hands should obtain a certificate showing the period of their provisional service in the concern and shall produce the same as and when required by the Commission. It would also be clearly specified in the certificate that they were not working in the regular service of the concern.
  • B.Com. from a recognized university with 60% or above marks in aggregate.
  • Rule 10 (a) ii of Part II of KS&SSR is applicable.
  • Candidates who claim equivalent qualification instead of the qualification mentioned in the notification shall produce the relevant Government Order to prove the equivalency at the time of verification, then only such qualification shall be treated as equivalent to the prescribed qualification.
  • In the case of difference in original caste/ community claimed in the application and that entered in SSLC book, the candidate shall produce a Gazette notification in this regard, along with Non Creamy Layer Certificate/ Community Certificate at the time of certificate verification.
  • Candidates shall register as per ‘ONE TIME REGISTRATION ‘ system on the Official Website of Kerala Public Service Commission ‘www.keralapsc.gov.in’ for applying for the post. Candidates who have registered shall apply by logging on to their profile using their User- ID and password. Candidates shall click on the ‘Apply Now’ button of the respective posts in the Notification link for applying for a post. No application fee is required. Candidates can view and have a print- out of the details in the profile by clicking the link Registration Card, if required. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before applying for a post, candidates must ensure correctness of the information in their profile. They must quote the User- ID for further communication with the Commission. Applications once submitted will be received as provisional and particulars shall not be deleted or altered after submission. Applications submitted not in accordance with the conditions of the notification will be summarily rejected if non compliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. Documents to prove qualification, community,age etc. have to be produced as and when called for .
  • If a written/OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection , candidates shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration Profile.Such candidates alone can generate and download the Admission Tickets in the last 15 days till the date of Test.The applications of candidates who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period,will be rejected absolutely.The periods regarding the submission of confirmation and the availability of Admission Tickets will be published in the Examination Calendar itself.Information in this regard will be given to the candidates in their respective profiles and in the mobile phones registered in it.

  • The Keral Public Service Commission is a body created by the Constitution of India. The Commission advise the Government on all matters relating to civil services referred to it under Article 320 (3) of the Constitution and publish notifications inviting applications for selection to various posts as per the requisitions of the appointing authorities, conduct written test and/or practical tests, physical efficiency test and interview, prepare ranked list based on the performance of the candidates and advise candidates for appointment strictly based on their merit and observing the rules of reservation as and when vacancies are reported.

  • The Head Office of the Kerala Public Service Commission is situated at Thulasi Hills at Pattom in Thiuvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. Its name resonates frequently with the place-name Pattom. And, the Head Office of the Kerala Public Service Commission has already become the Signature of Pattom.
  • The Commission has got three Regional Offices at Kollam, Ernakulam and Kozhikode which have been constituted for decentralising State-wide selections. There are District Offices of the Commission in all Revenue Districts to attend to selections relating to posts earmarked for District-wise selections.
  • The Head of the Office of the Commission is the Secretary who is appointed by the Commission with prior approval of the Governor. The Secretary is assisted by three Additional Secretaries, one of whom is the Controller of Examinations. Below to their ranks, there are 12 Joint Secretaries, 22 Deputy Secretaries and 64 Under Secretaries. The number of Section Officers under the Commission is 196. About 1200 other officers including Personal Assistants, Assistants, Typists, Peons etc. are also assisting the Commission in its functions.
  • The functioning of the Commission is carried out by Recruitment Wing, Examination Wing, Departmental Test Wing, Advice/Consultation Wing, Secret Section, Research and Analysis Wing, Public Relation Unit, Establishment Wing, Accounts Wing, Records Section, Fair Copy Sections, Tappal Sections and Library.
  • The Recruitment Wing consists of Government Recruitment, Corporation and Companies Recruitment, Local Authority Recruitment, Co-operative sector Recruitment, Special Recruitment for SC/ST, Inspection of Recruitment and District Recruitment Sections which prepare Notifications inviting applications for District-wise Selection.
  • All works connected with the Conduct of various Examinations and Tests for Recruitment & Eligibility Test fall under the Examination Wing.
  • There was a Public Service Commissioner in the Travancore state whose duty was to select candidates for direct recruitment to various categories of posts under the Government. G.D. Nokes was appointed as the first Public Service Commissioner on 14th June, 1936. The Office of the Public Service Commissioner, Travancore continued to function till the integration of Travancore and Cochin States.
  • In Cochin there was a Staff Selection Board constituted in 1936 to select candidates for initial recruitment to lower posts. In 1947 a three member Cochin Public Service Commission was constituted under an Act of the State Legislature.
  • The Travancore-Cochin State was formed on 1st July, 1949 by the integration of the two Princely States of Travancore and Cochin.With the integration of the States of Travancore and Cochin on 1st July, 1949 a Public Service Commission for the State of Travancore-Cochin was constituted by an Ordinance. There were three members on the Commission including the Chairman. The functions of the Travancore-Cochin Public Service Commission were generally the same as those laid down in the Government of India Act, 1935. Later, when the Constitution of India came into force on the 26th January, 1950, the Travancore-Cochin Public Service Commission continued to function under the Constitutional Provisions.
  • The State of Kerala was formed on 1st November 1956 consequent on the Reorganisation of States. It comprises the former Travancore-Cochin State (except the present Kanyakumari District and Shencottah Taluk of the present Tamil Nadu) and the Malabar District and the Kasargod Taluk of South Kanara District of the then composite Madras State.
  • With the formation of the State of Kerala on 1st November 1956 as a result of the reorganisation of States, the Travancore-Cochin Public Service Commission was transformed into the Kerala Public Service Commission. The number of the Members of the Commission was increased to Five in 1959, to Seven in 1971, to Eight in 1981, to Nine in 1982, to Thirteen in 1983, to Fourteen in 1984 , to Fifteen in 1984 and to the present strength of Eighteen in 2005.
