General Information:

  • All posts bear All India transfer liability.

  • ACRs for the last five years duly attested on each page by a Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer in case applying for deputation.
  • NIOS shall verify the antecedents or documents uploaded/submitted by the candidate at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidate are false at any stage, even after the appointment or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her services shall be terminated without notice or any compensation in lieu thereof.
  • Incomplete applications/ without relevant supporting enclosures/ without prescribed fee/ application not on prescribed form will be out rightly rejected.
  • Applications which do not meet all criteria given in this advertisement/ incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Candidate should have fulfilled all the educational qualifications and experience as on the closing date of application.
  • Candidates should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or suppress any material information while registering the application and submitting/uploaded the certified copies/ testimonials.

About Us:

  • The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), formerly National Open School, (name changed in 2002) is the board of education under the Union Government of India. It was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India in 1989[1] to provide education to all segments of society under the motive to increase literacy and aimed forward for flexible learning. The NIOS is a national board that administers examinations for Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations similar to the CBSE and the CISCE. It also offers vocational courses after the high school.
  • The National Consortium for Open Schooling (NCOS) shall strive to facilitate coordination among Open Schools in India and sharing of resources through collaborative networking for access to sustainable school education, skill upgradation and training to all through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of education.
  • The NCOS Secretariat may request the SOSs to suggest Agenda Items for discussion in the forum of NCOS. The NCOS Secretariat is to prepare the Agenda Papers for NCOS Meetings by taking into consideration the needs of the States as also of goal of Universalisation of School Education.
  • The NCOS Secretariat shall ensure follow up action on the recommendations of the Meetings, Conferences, Seminars etc., of NCOS. The NCOS Secretariat shall pursue the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to make provision of funds for Promotion and Upscaling of the Open Schooling programme at national level and at State level, particularly to meet the goal of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
  • Nios had a cumulative enrollment of about 1.5 million students from 2004 to 2009 at secondary and senior secondary levels and enrolls about 350,000 students annually which makes it the largest open schooling system in the world.
