Note: The Lead – Battery Management Systems position is a full-time, on-site role based at Ultraviolette Automotive’s headquarters in Bangalore, Karnataka. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing the battery management systems that are central to the performance and safety of Ultraviolette’s electric vehicles.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Lead – Battery Management Systems (BMS) will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of BMS development, from conceptualization to implementation. Key responsibilities include:
- BMS Architecture Design: Develop and implement advanced BMS architectures tailored for high-performance electric vehicles, ensuring optimal battery efficiency, longevity, and safety.
- Algorithm Development: Design and refine algorithms for state-of-charge (SOC), state-of-health (SOH), and state-of-power (SOP) estimations to enhance battery performance and reliability.
- Thermal Management: Collaborate with the thermal engineering team to integrate effective thermal management solutions that prevent overheating and extend battery life.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all BMS designs comply with national and international safety standards, including AIS, ISO, and UN regulations for electric vehicle batteries.
- Testing and Validation: Lead rigorous testing protocols, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and real-world validation, to guarantee the robustness of BMS solutions under diverse operating conditions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to integrate BMS seamlessly with other vehicle systems.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Liaise with battery suppliers and technology partners to source high-quality components and stay abreast of emerging advancements in battery technology.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and present progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Eligibility Criteria
Ultraviolette Automotive is seeking highly skilled and motivated professionals with a strong background in battery management systems and electric vehicle technologies. The eligibility criteria for the Lead – Battery Management Systems position are as follows:
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Mandatory): Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university or institution.
- Master’s Degree (Preferred): A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or Battery Technology will be considered an advantage.
- Specialized Training: Certifications or coursework in Battery Management Systems, Power Electronics, or Electric Vehicle Technologies will be highly regarded.
Professional Experience
- Minimum Experience: A minimum of 8 years of industry experience in battery management systems, power electronics, or electric vehicle development.
