Applications are invited from the eligible candidates from the Staff Recruitment Committee PMSSY Super Speciality Hospital for filling up of the 200 posts of Staff Nurses in the pay scale of Rs.8825-16000. The details are as here under.

Minimum Qualification :
PUC ( 10+2 or equivalent) and should possess B.Sc. Nursing Degree from the Institute recongised by the Govt. of Karnataka and shall possess Karnataka Governing Council registration certificate and should have working experience in the hospitals having Super Speciality Departments. Or
PUC (10+2 or equivalent) and GNM or Diploma in Nursing (3 ½ years) from an Institute recognised by the Govt. of Karnataka and should possess a Karnataka Nursing Council registration certificate.
Should have minimum 2 years working experience in hospitals with a minimum capacity of 200 beds and have working experience in the Emergency Department, Post Operative ward and operation theatre in such hospitals. Special preference will be given to those having one year working experience in the Super Speciality Departments of the hospitals attached to Medical College.

Age Limit :
Min 18 years and Max 35 years for General Candidates.
Min 18 years and Max 38 years for others.
Min 18 years and Max 40 years for SC/ST/Cat-I Candidates.

About the organization:
The Directorate of Medical Education of the Government of Karnataka was bifurcated from the Department of Health & Family Welfare Services, in the year 1978 and is functioning independently since then.  The main aim of the department is to provide a good quality education in the field of medical sciences. The primary responsibility of the Directorate of Medical Education is to conduct various medical courses, for providing quality medical education at graduate, post-graduate, and super-speciality levels, Para-medical courses, nursing, etc. To fit into the above philosophy, the Department is geared up to bring-in-a qualitative change, with due emphasis on providing a low-cost & curative health care services, at tertiary level hospitals. There is a separate Health University viz., Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, an apex body in the academic field. The academic matters pertaining to Medical/ Nursing colleges are entirely governed by the rules and regulations of the Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India, Nursing Council of India and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.Selection Committee in the Directorate of Medical Education helps in identifying the number of seats in Post-Graduate and Undergraduate Medical and Dental faculties, M.Pharma, B.Pharma, B.Sc (Nursing) and Bachelor in Physio-Therapy, available in Govt., Private Colleges in the state, for the allotment of students to the respective courses and send proposals to the Govt. for notification and issuing Government Orders. Committee also prepares the seat Matrix as per state’s reservation policy and sends the proposals to the Govt. for Notifications and orders. Reconciliation for filling up of the un-allotted seats in private colleges, effecting mutual transfers to MBBS/ BDS students, sending proposals to the Government regarding the amendments of the selection rules, etc., are also being handled by the committee. (a) Preparation of seat matrix of MBBS/ BDS courses and submission of proposal to the Government for issue of notification of all Government and Private Medical and Dental Colleges in Karnataka. Effecting mutual transfers Conducting reconciliation meetings. Post Graduate Medical and Dental Courses Preparation of PG seat matrix and submission of proposal to the Government for issue of seat matrix of Post Graduate Medical and Dental seats in all the Government and Private Medical and Dental Colleges in Karnataka. Participating in the counseling conducted by RGUHS for selection of candidates to the Post Graduate Courses in all Government Medical and Dental Colleges and for government seats in all Private Medical and Dental Colleges in Karnataka.   The mission of the Department of Medical Education is to ensure quality medical education and research while facilitating tertiary healthcare at remote regions of the state. The government has established several autonomous Medical/ Dental/ Nursing Colleges & Research Institutes across Karnataka in cities such as Bangalore, Mysore, Bellary, Belgaum, Shimoga, Hubli, Bidar and Raichur amongst others. The State has 17 teaching hospitals and seven major autonomous Healthcare Institutes, prime amongst them being the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, NIMHANS, and the Sanjay Gandhi Accident Hospital & Research Institute. Achievements of the department include the establishing of a Common Entrance Test Cell to facilitate centralized student counseling for both graduated and post-graduate degrees in all disciplines of medicine.   Future plans will see the commencement of new super specialty courses such as Vascular Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Immuno-Hematology and PG course in Biomedical Engineering, Emergency Medicine and Clinical Research, to name only a few.
