1. Medical Superintendent : 01 Post
Age : Shall not be below 40 years or more than 58 years of age
Pay Scale : Rs.37400-67000+ Rs. 10000 GP + NPA as admissible

2. Professor : 05 Posts
Age : Not less than 25 years or not more than 58 years of age on or before the Ist day of the month next preceding the last date of submission of applications
Pay Scale : Rs.37400-67000+ Rs. 10000 GP + NPA as admissible

3. Reader/ Associate Professor : 15 Poss
Age : Not less than 25 years or not more than 50 years of age on or before the Ist day of the month next preceding the last date of submission of applications
Pay Scale : Rs.37400-67000+ Rs. 8700 GP + NPA as admissible

4. Lecturer/Assistant Professor : 18 Posts
Age : Same as above post
Pay Scale : 15600-39100 + 6600 GP + NPA as admissible

General Instructions:
1. The candidate already in Govt./Semi Govt./Corporation or Autonomous Body Service should apply through proper channel and he/she may send an advance copy of the application to avoid delay but the application through proper channel must reach in due course of time.
2. The candidate who is in service will have to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ from his/her parent department/employer at the time of interview otherwise he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview.
3. Submission of incomplete application i.e. without attested copies of testimonials/ academic career, experience certificate/attempt certificate may render the candidate ineligible.
4. Number of posts are liable to increase or decrease either way, including complete withdrawal.
5. The abbreviation GC stands for General Category.
6. A passport-size photograph, duly attested, be affixed on the application form.

B.D.Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak is situated at a distance of about 240 km from Chandigarh and about 70 km from Delhi on Delhi-Hissar-Sirsa-Fazilka National Highway (NH-10). It is the  only major Institution for Medical Education and Research and a tertiary care centre for provision of specialized health care services not only to the people of the State of Haryana, but also to those from  Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and western U.P.  The Institute was started under the name of Medical College, Rohtak in the year 1960.  For the first three years, the students were admitted to Medical College, Patiala which acted as a host Institution.  In 1963, the students were shifted to Rohtak.  In the subsequent years, multifaceted expansion measures have transformed the Institute into a fully developed center of Medical Education and research in all the major disciplines of Medicine.  In the year 1994, Medical College, Rohtak was renamed as Pt. B.D.Sharma, Medical College, Rohtak and subsequently it was upgraded to a Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in the year 1995.  Today Pt. B.D.Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak is a famous institution not only for medical education but also for the health care facilities both at the National as well as International level.  THE INSTITUTE COMPLEX houses the following buildings:     The Institute  has a remarkably well developed campus spread over an area of 350 acres of land. During the 43 years of its existence, Pt. B.D.Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak has witnessed a phenomenal growth achieving not only its designated goals but also in expanding its horizons to set newer objectives completely commensurable with the requirements of National goal of “Health for all by 2020”. The Institute, over the years, has developed excellent organizational structure through its statutory and non-statutory authorities resulting in establishment of a well regulated administrative machinery and achievement of excellence in academic functioning and medical research and providing high level of medical care to the patients. Just to give a glimpse of the services rendered by the hospital to the needy patients, nearly 11,38,980 patients were provided consultation and treatment in the out patient departments during the year 2004 – 2005.  Out of these 68,000 patients were admitted as indoor patients.  The expansion of the hospital campus at Rohtak has been phenomenal both in terms of academic expansion as well as providing infrastructural and other support facilities. The Institute is a Haryana Govt. Department, which functions under the Health Department and is wholly funded by Govt. of Haryana. The followingofficials /functionaries manage the affairs of the Institute in a team spirit. Commissioner & Secretary is the highest administrative authority, which decides all the policies and important matters relating to the Institute. The Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute and is appointed by the Government of Haryana. He exercises the powers and functions delegated by the Government. Medical Superintendent: The Hospital of the Institute functions under the overall charge of the Medical Superintendent and is assisted by three Deputy Medical Superintendents and other officers. Administrative Officer: Govt. of Haryana deputes an HCS Officer as Administrative Officer of the Institute who looks after all the administrative work and assists the Director in the day to day administration of the Institute.
