NIT Kurukshetra requires Assistant Professors/ Teaching Assistants on contract basis in the disciplines of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical / Industrial Engineering & Management, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engg. / Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities & Social Sciences (English/ Economics/ Management), Business Administration (MBA) and Computer Applications (MCA). The appointments will be on contract basis for a period of one year at consolidated salary of Rs. 30000/-pm or Rs. 25000/- pm depending on qualification
A. For recruitment in various Engineering & Technology Deptts.M. Tech. with First class or equivalent grade at Masters or BachelorsDegree level in appropriate discipline of engineering and technology. Thecandidates possessing this qualification shall be paid a consolidated salary of Rs.30,000/- per month. In the event of non-availability of M.Tech. qualified
b. candidates, the candidates having B.Tech. with First class or equivalent grade inthe respective disciplines may be considered for appointment. However, B.Tech.qualified candidates shall be paid consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000/- per month.
c. For recruitment in Humanities/ Science Departments.First class or equivalent Grade at Masters Degree level in therelevant field from an Indian University or any equivalent degree from anaccredited foreign University. The candidates must be UGC/CSIR NET qualifiedor similar Test accredited by UGC or SLET/SET.
d. Preference will be given to First classMasters and First class Bachelors Degree holders or candidates possessingPh.D. qualification in the appropriate field of Humanities/ Science. Further,NET/SLET/SET shall not be essential for eligibility for such Masters programmesin which these examinations are not conducted.
e. For recruitment in Business Administration Department.First Class Masters degree in Business Management/Administrationin relevant management related discipline or First Class in two year fulltime/three year part-time PGDM declared equivalent and accredited byAICTE/UGC. Preference will be given for First Class Master and First ClassBachelor degree holders in appropriate field of BusinessManagement/Administration. The candidates should have cleared the NationalEligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited bythe UGC like SLET/SET. However,

About the organization :
The Central Government in consultation with the Planning Commission had sanctioned a scheme of establishment of Regional Engineering Colleges under the Third Five Year Plain in order to expand the facilities for technical education in the country during the plan period. The Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra was one of the seventeen colleges in the country.Vide letter No. 16-4/60-T.5, dated the 26th February, 1962 from the Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs, New Delhi, it was established in the year 1963 as a joint and cooperative enterprise of Govt. of India and the State Government of Haryana to serve the State of Haryana and the rest of the country for imparting technical training to youth and for fostering national integration. Its objective was to provide instructions and research facilities in various disciplines of engineering and technology and the advancement of learning and dissemination of knowledge in each such discipline.The first admission to five year B.Sc. (Engg.) degree course was made by the Institute in July, 1963 at Punjab Engineering College , Chandigarh and Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala , with an intake of 60 students at each place. This was repeated in July, 1964 also. The Institute started functioning on its present campus at Kurukshetra from the year 1965-66.
