Job or Vacancy Description:
BSNL  Maharashtra will recruit Junior Telecom Officers (JTOs) through Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) for Persons with Disability (PWD) in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 16400-40500. :

Junior Telecom. Officers (JTOs) : 31  posts (Telecom-29, Civil-2),

Pay Scale : Rs. 16400-40500 (IDA Pattern),

Age : 30 years. Relaxation For PWD candidates upto 10 years for OC candidate; 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC,

Qualification :  Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology or equivalent Engineering degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognized engineering college / university: Telecommunication/ Electronics/ Radio/ Computer/ Electrical./  IT (Information Technolog)/ Instrumentation/ Civil/ Electrical

General Instructions:
1. The Junior Telecom Officer is a Circle-based Cadre and the candidates would be selected against the vacancies in a particular Circle and required to serve minimum of 5 years in that particular Circle only or until they are promoted to All India Cadre, whichever is earlier. However, BSNL has the right to post any selected J.T.O. to any of the Circles either temporarily or on permanent basis.

2. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC who are also covered under any other clause of 3(a) above, viz those coming under the category of Ex-Servicemen, Persons domiciled in the state of J&K will be eligible for grant of cumulative age relaxation under both the categories. The candidates covered under clause 3(b) will get the maximum benefit that he or she will be getting under clause

3. The date of birth entered in matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University

4. An apprentice will be required to compete in the common competitive examination conducted by BSNL along with other direct candidates and preference tothe apprentices over non-apprentices direct candidates will be given only if apprentices secure equal place in merit in select zone and all other eligibility conditions being equal.

5. BSNL reserves the right to change the number of vacancies of Junior Telecom Officer in Telecom, Civil or Electrical cadre.The appearance of the name in the merit-list does not confer any right on the candidate for employment. A final call letter / appointment letter will be issued to the candidate after completion of all other formalities.

6. Since the examination is exclusively for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), there will be no examination fees for such candidates. However, the disabled persons who would
otherwise be eligible for appointment to the post on the basis of the standards of medical fitness prescribed for the post

7. Application forms complete in every respect must reach on or before 12-12-2011. Applications received after the closing date or incomplete in any respect shall be summarily rejected and no communication in respect of the rejected application forms shall be entertained. Fees paid shall also NOT be refunded. BSNL shall not be responsible for any postal delay.

8. The applicants would be admitted to the examination on the basis of the information furnished by them in their application form. They are, therefore, advised to ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions before applying. In case it is found at a later stage that the information furnished by an applicant is false

9. All candidates provisionally recruited shall execute Bonds in the format specified by the BSNL indicating their willingness to serve the Circle allotted and Corporation for a period of at least 5 years from the date of their appointment as JTOs.

About the organization :
MAHARASHTRA TELECOM CIRCLE (MHTC) under the BHARAT SANCHAR NIGAM LIMITED (A Govt. of India Enterprise)  is serving the entire state of Maharashtra (except Mumbai-MTNL) & Goa. This circle is headed by Chief General Manager. He leads a strong & unified team of PGMs , GMs, TDMs and 28,000 highly skilled technical & non-technical workforce. MHTC serves a vast terrain of  310762 Sq. Kms covering lot of coastal & hilly area. Basic as well as value added telecom services such as Internet, ISDN and Intelligent Network are provided to the population of 3 crores in Urban Area and 6 crores in Rural Area. Vital attention is given for the development of Village Public Telephone System network throughout the Circle.PCOs are allotted to any extent of exchange capacity wherever new telephone is available on demand. At all other places, i.e. at places where there is waiting list for NTCs, 10% of the exchange capacity is utilized for PCOs. New PCOs are allotted immediately on receipt of application on day to day basis as per their registration within this capacity limit. If there is no waiting list for normal telephones in an exchange, PCOs even beyond this limit are allotted. More than one PCO (LOCAL as well as STD/ISD) are allotted liberally, if desired by the franchisee in the same premises. However, application for such PCOs is treated like any other PCO application and no over riding priority among the PCO applications is given for such applications. Each such PCO is treated as independent for the purpose of reckoning minimum guaranteed revenue, security deposit etc. PCOs are allotted liberally without any restriction of distance, space and size of accommodation. Only TEC approved Charge indicators are to be used. Physical verification by BSNL officer of the instrument before providing PCO is not required. PCO Franchisees are permitted to become franchisees of Postal Department for sale of Postage stamps. Conference Facility on STD/ISD PCOs is permitted. Attachment of Fax machine with STD/ISD PCOs is permitted. No rates have been prescribed for fax messages. Franchisee may charge anything from the public depending upon the competition. STD/ISD PCOs are allowed to be converted into Multi-Utility Telecom Point.  These points are allowed to provide Video conferencing and high-speed Internet services to their customers using broadband of BSNL. STD/ISD PCO franchisees are permitted to sell BSNL cellular services like SIM cards (Cell One / Excel), Sancharnet Cash Cards Coupons and commission to the franchisee is paid as applicable.
