General Instructions:

1) To develop, establish and maintain marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives.

2) Manage and co-ordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional activities with the assistance of Deputy and Assistant Marketing Managers.

3) Understand needs of the jute cultivators and provide them with adequate inputs for encouraging raw jute production. Sharing of information with as many jute farmers as possible by holding awareness programmes on various techniques developed for producing better quality and improved fibre yield and market information.

4) To analyze current market condition.

5) Monitor, review and report on all marketing activities and results.

6) Liaison with different Govt. organizations/departments for marketing related activities.
7. In addition to the Scale of pay all the above posts carry other fringe benefits like CPF, Pension, Gratuity, Re-imbursement of Medical Expenses, LTC etc. as per the rules of the Corporation.
8. Graduate in any discipline from any recognised University with fluency in English, Hindi and Bengali. Knowledge in computer is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates having MBA degree from a recognised Institution/University.
9. Should have at least 5 years experience in the similar capacity out of which 3 years in the immediate lower grade or scale. Retired person with similar experience may also apply and their candidature will be considered on contract basis. The contract is initially for a period of 1(one) year which may be extended for a further period of 3 years depending upon his ability to hold the job responsibility of the said post. A consolidated pay of Rs.25,000/- per month is to be given.

About the organization:
The Jute Corporation of India Limited (JCI) was set up in 1971 as an official agency by the Government of India with the aim to provide minimum support price (MSP) to the jute cultivators and also work as a helping hand in the raw jute sector. JCI was established by the Indian Government for the welfare of the jute growers, for example, granting them a certain amount of funds with the help of which they can have their own farming sector of jute. The JCI was first started as a small official agency at the beginning but then slowly it expanded its networking and now has almost spread in 7 states successfully for jute growing. The states which are eminent for jute growing in India include West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh. The Government of India fixes the minimum support price (MSP) for the JCI from time to time and the Price Support Operation is being set up to procure raw jute from the farmers which is based on the MSP fixed by the Government. The Jute Corporation of India Ltd. demands superior quality products and so the raw jute market in JCI receives a premium for its quality value. JCI also acts as the export inspection agency appointed by the Government of India and it inspects the jute just before being exported. As per the policy decision of the Government, JCI is obliged to buy whatever quantity of jute is offered at support rates by the growers without any quantitative limit. The losses incurred by the JCI while implementing the open-ended policy of the Government of India to support the jute farmers are to be reimbursed by the Government of India. The JCI has been provided with an authorised and paid up Capital of Rs. 5 crores. As per authorisation of the Government of India, Reserve Bank of India has allowed special credit line for MSP operation by hypothecation of jute purchased by the Corporation. The margin money required to be mobilised for the Corporation for such credit has been dispensed with by giving a Government guarantee. The loss is determined after the sale of jute and the amount of loss is claimed by the Corporation for reimbursement through budgetary support. Ensuring timely supply of raw jute of specified BIS standard backed by stringent quality control system sales service to the buyer mills against sale contract. Constantly try to capture the voice of the customer in improvement of the service rendered. Conducting Commercial Operation in raw jute/mesta in a judicious manner. Importing/Exporting of raw jute/mesta as and when necessary. Trading in jute goods. Undertaking various extension measures for implementation of different jute related projects.To buy whatever quantity offered for sale at minimum support prices and ensure that market prices do not sag below the minimum support price declared by the Government of India from time to time. Payment either on spot or at least within 3 days from the date of purchase to all small and marginal growers who tender raw jute for sale at our procurement centers and to ensure correct return for their produce. Timely delivery to the buyer mill jute of grades as specified by BIS against sale contract within 60 days from date of making payment arrangement. Settlement of weight claim with buyer mills within 15 days from the date of receipt of the claim. Settlement of quality/condition claim with buyer mills within 60 days from the date of receipt of the claim. Payment of the claim bills within 15 days from the date of receipt of the bills.
