The Fire Service in Goa has been constituted under the Fire Force Act 1986. Under section 4 of the Act, the superintendence and control of the Fire Force shall vest in the Director of Fire & Emergency Services. He shall be responsible to the Government for the efficient functioning of the Service. Operationally Fire Service consists of one Headquarter, three sub divisions and a Fire Prevention and Training Cell, each headed by a Gazetted Officer.

Instructions :
i.The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Person with disability and Ex-Serviceman will be applicable for upper Age limit as per Government instructions or orders from time to time.
ii.The candidates who have applied in response to Advertisement No.DFES/EST/U-1/391-Vol.X1/2013-14-5521, dated; 11.02.2014 and cleared Physical Efficiency Test for the post of Fire Fighter are not required to apply again for the post. However, such candidates will be required to appear for fresh Written Examination for which they will be informed accordingly.
iii.The candidate may refer the Syllabus for Written Examination on the Department’s website www.goadfes.gov.in under heading “Syllabus for the Competitive Examination for direct Recruitment”.
iv.The candidates applying for the post of Sub-Officer, Driver Operator, Watch Room Operator and Fire Fighter after qualifying in the documents verification will be put through Physical Efficiency Test.
v.The Weightage of 15% given for performance in the Oral Interview shall stand discontinued as per Government O.M. No.1/6/83-PER (Vol.H) Pt.(a), dated; 08.01.2016. The performance in the written test, out of 100 marks shall be the sole criteria for selection.
vi.Incomplete application forms will be summarily rejected and no intimation will be sent to the applicants in this regard. Applications received after last date of submission shall not be entertained.
