General Instructions:
1. Abbreviations:- UR- Unreserved, SC/ST- Scheduled Caste/Tribe, OBC- Other Backward Class OH -Orthopedically Handicapped Reservation for persons with disabilities/Ex-servicemen/Disabled Ex-servicemen/ SC/ ST/ OBC as per Govt. Guidelines.

2. All appointments shall be on “contract basis” and will be initially for a period of ‘four years’ including a probation period of one year.  The contractual appointment may

10.  Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is an autonomous super-specialty Institute of excellence under GNCT of Delhi and a Deemed-to-be-University by the GOI.

11. All the posts(s) are on consolidated package basis.  The incumbents will be eligible for an annual increment 7.5% of Pay Band & Grade Pay.  The remuneration packages are based on Pay Band & Grade Pay as per revised pay rules 2008 and HR policy of ILBS.

16. Distribution of income – The percentage of ILBS Administration charge will be 10% of the total remuneration payable, if it exceeds Rs. 10,000 in a month. The Consultant will make themselves available in the Institute as per the requirement of the Institute.

17. Cancers of Hepatobiliary system are increasing in India. These rather orphan cancers carry poor prognosis and have limited treatment options. The research funding and public attention is also limited towards these tumors.

18. The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences New Delhi has started an innovative project to collaborate with primary care physicians around the country to develop expertise in treating complex and chronic diseases.

19. The project was inaugurated by Mr R Gopalakrishnan, IAS who is presently serving as Secretary to the Innovation Council of India. Dr Sanjeev Arora, Professor of Internal Medicine at University of New Mexico in USA, was also present at the inauguration.

20. Mr. Gopalakrishnan has been working with the Indian Administrative Service since 1979. As Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, his responsibilities in PMO include overseeing Ministries of Planning and Planning Commission,

21. It gives me immense pleasure to state that the Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS), an autonomous super specialty medical institute under Delhi Government has successfully completed one year of its operations.

22. Accreditation is “a public recognition of the achievement of accreditation standards by a healthcare organisation, demonstrated through an independent external peer assessment of that organisation’s level of performance in relation to the standards”.

About the organization:
The Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) has been established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as an autonomous institute, under the Societies act. The mission of ILBS is to become a dedicated international centre of excellence for the diagnosis, management and advanced training and research in the field of liver and biliary diseases. The first phase of ILBS is already functional having 180 hospital beds, 74 of which cater as intensive care (ICU) beds. The second phase of ILBS, likely to be operational by early 2012, will add a dedicated multi-storie research complex, auditorium, guest-house, hepato-biliary oncology unit, additional beds and residential accommodation. The ILBS aims to provide a healthy work environment to its faculty and staff. ILBS is a deemed university under the UGC act and it aspires to become a unique model for an academic career both for the national and international students and the faculty.
