How to apply: Details of eligibility, qualification, experience, specialization, etc., and application form can be obtained at www.rgu.ac.in or from the Deputy Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh-791 112, Arunachal Pradesh, during office hours on all working days in person. Cost of application form Rs.50/-. The candidates SC/ST/PWD category shall not have to pay the application fees, however, Rs.50/- from SC/ST/PWD will be charged as postal expenses only. Applicants downloading application form from website will have to pay Rs.400/- as application fee excluding SC/ST/PDW candidates. General Instructions:
1. NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/Institutions. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
2. Candidates in service should submit application through proper channel or enclose, NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE, from their present employer. However, an advance copy may be sent directly, application received after stipulated date or incomplete will not be entertained and shall be rejected; no further correspondence will be made in this regard.
3. For all the posts, the eligibility criteria shall be in accordance with the latest UGC Regulations.
4. Mere submission of application/satisfying the eligibility criteria does not entail the candidate to be called for interview. University reserves the right to shortlist the applications and call for interview wherever interview is held. The University also reserves the right to reject the candidature of the candidate at any stage of recruitment/selection process if anything found false, tampered, fabricated or suppression of any information while registering the application and submitting the certificate/testimonials.
5. If there is any change in the address after submission of application, the candidates should in his/her own interest arrange with the post office concerned for redirection of the communication from old to new address.
6. Separate application is required to be submitted for each Post.
7. Against specific reserved community quota, only candidates of that particular community will be considered. A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the master’s level for the SC/ST category for all posts and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in appointments as Assistant Professor; please note – (i) Caste certificate from competent authority for SC & ST candidates in the prescribed format have to be produced. PWD candidates claiming the benefits of reservations should submit a copy of Medical Certificate as specified in the Disabilities Act of 1995 in support of their disability. (ii) If the candidates wish to be considered against a specific community quota and tick the community column accordingly, their application will be rejected unless proof of community in the prescribed format is enclosed; and (iii) any subsequent representation for change of community status will not be entertained under any circumstances.
8. Reservation is available for Persons with Disabilities under section 33 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights & full Participation) Act, 1995. As reservation for physically challenged candidates is on horizontal basis, the selected candidates will be placed in the appropriate category (viz. SC/ST/OBC/PWD/UR).
9. Applicants for the reserved post of OBC are required to submit a certificate regarding his/her “OBC Status and belongingness to NO CREAMY LAYER” from the appropriate competent authority.
10. The application form should be written and signed by the candidate in his own handwriting only.
11. Candidate should clearly mention the correspondence address with pin code carefully as applicable otherwise application can be rejected summarily.
12. Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded on any account nor can it be held in serve for any other purpose.
13. The University reserves the right to postpone/cancel this recruitment exercise for any/all the posts.
14. Those candidates who will attend the interview for the post of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and or equivalent no TA/DA will be given.
15. Canvassing in favour of candidature both direct and indirect is strictly prohibited. Violation of the code of conduct will be treated as misconduct and will be brought to the notice of Selection Committee. The University reserves the right to cancel candidature of such candidates at any point of time if found in canvassing in any form.

About the organization:
Rajiv Gandhi University (formerly Arunachal University) is the premier institution for higher education in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and has completed twenty five years of its existance. Late Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, laid the foundation stone of the university on 4th February 1984 at Rono Hills, where the present campus is located. Ever since its inception, the university has been trying to achieve excellence and fulfill the objectives as envisaged in the University Act. The University got academic recognition under section 2(f) from the University Grants Commission on 28th March, 1985 and started functioning from 1st April, 1985. It got financial recognition under section 12-B of the UGC on 25th March, 1994. Since then Rajiv Gandhi University then Arunachal University has carved a niche for itself in the educational scenario of the country following its selection as a University with potential for excellence by a high level expert committee of University Grants Commission from among universities in India. The University was converted into a Central University with effect from 9th April 2007 as per notification of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The University is located atop Rono Hills on a picturesque tableland of 302 acres overlooking the river Dikrong. It is 6.5 km away from the National Highway 52-A and 25 km away from Itanagar, the State capital. The campus is linked with the National Highway by a Dikrong bridge. The teaching and research programmes of the University are designed with a view to play a positive role in the socio-economic and cultural development of the State. The University offers Under Graduate, Post-Graduate, M. Phil and Ph.D. programmes. The Department of Education also offers B.Ed. programme. There are fifteen colleges affiliated to the University. The University has been extending educational facilities to the students from the neighbouring States, particularly Assam. The strength of students in different Departments of University and in affiliated colleges has been steadily increasing. The Faculty members have been actively engaged in research activities with financial support from UGC and other funding agencies. Since inception, a number of proposals on research projects have been sanctioned by various funding agencies to the University. Departments have organized a number of Seminars, Workshops and Conferences. Many faculty members participated in national and international conferences and seminars held within the country and abroad. Eminent scholars and distinguished personalities have visited the University and delivered lectures on various disciplines. The academic year 2000-2001 was a year of consolidation for the University. The switch over from annual to semester system took off smoothly and the performance of the students registered a marked improvement. Various syllabi designed by Boards of Post-Graduate Studies (BPGS) have been implemented. VSAT facility installed by the ERNET India, New Delhi under UGC-Infonet program, provides internet access. In spite of infrastructural constraints, the University has been maintaining its academic excellence. The University has strictly adhered to the academic calendar, conducted the examinations and declared the results in time. The students from the University have found placements not only in State and Central Government Services, but also in various institutions, industries and organizations. Many students have come out successful in the National Eligibility Test (NET). Since inception, the University has made significant progress in teaching, research, innovations in curriculum development and developing infrastructure.
