General Instructions:
1. Application Form may be downloaded from SFCI�s website i.e. www.sfci.nic.in Application complete in all respects along with attested copies of Certificates/ Testimonials should be sent to the Chief Administrative Officer at the above mentioned address by post/courier on or before 21 days from the date of advertisement appearing in the Employment News i.e.   14 July2011. Applications received after the last date, incomplete or without the required documents/ information will not be considered.

2. Applications should be sent through proper channel in case the candidates working in Government Department/ PSUs/ Autonomous bodies. While forwarding the application, it may be verified by the Department/ PSU concerned that the particulars furnished by the candidates are correct and no vigilance/ disciplinary case is pending against him/ her. The candidates belonging to General and OBC category are requested to enclose DD/ Bankers Cheque of Rs. 100/- in favour of State Farms Corporation of India Limited payable at State Bank of India, New Delhi towards application fees. SC/ ST/ Female/Physically challenged candidates are exempted from application fee. One self attested photograph must be pasted on the space provided in the application form.

3. There will be no age/percentage bar for departmental candidates who otherwise meet the prescribed qualifications and experience.

4. Canvassing in any form or in bringing any influence (applicable or otherwise) will render rejection of application without notice. No routine queries/ correspondence regarding any individual application will be entertained. Persons claiming age relaxation should submit attested copies of appropriate certificates along with the application.
In case of OBC, the Caste Certificate inter alia must specify that the candidate does not belong to �creamy layer�. OBC (NCL) Certificate must be valid one and should be issued on or after 1st January, 2011.

5. Candidates must possess required qualification and experience as on the last date of receipt of application.

6. Mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria/ norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for test/ interview. Management reserves the right to reject the application without assigning any reason and to raise standard of specifications to restrict the number of candidates to be called for test/ interview. The posts can be increased/decreased at the discretion of management. The recruitment process can be cancelled/ suspended/ terminated without assigning any reason. The decision of Management will be final and no appeal will be entertained.

7. Candidates should super scribe the name and Sr. No. of the post applied for on the envelope. Only those candidates who are shortlisted for appearing in the personal interview will be intimated at the communication address furnished by them in the application form.

About the organization:
The origin of State Farms Corporation of India Limited (SFCI) goes back to 1956 when first mechanized farm was established in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan with the machinery gifted by erstwhile USSR on the eve of the visit of Marshal Bulganin. While inaugurating the first farm at Suratgarh in 1956, the first Prime Minister of India Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru called it a SYMBOL OF RESURGENT INDIA. Subsequently, late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India remarked, � the Suratgarh farm has shown us how human will and scientific ingenuity can make desert bloomLater on with the success of large mechanized farm at Suratgarh, many new farms were added in India with the Russian assistance. In 1969, to manage the affair of these farms, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Agriculture was set up with in the name of STATE FARMS CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED. As on date, SFCI is managing six large mechanized farms situated in 4 states in different agro climatic zones of the Country. The initial idea of setting up these farms was to increase the food production However, subsequently keeping in view the importance of the seed, when the first National Seed Project came in the country in 1974, the primary object of these farms became the seed production of HIGH YIELDING VARIETIES  Encouraged with the success of seed production in the year 1978, SFCI was also assigned the job of FOUNDATION seed production of different crops to meet out its own requirement of foundation seeds for production of CERTIFIED seed as also to cater to foundation seed requirement of State Seeds Corporations and National Seeds Corporation. In the year 1982, it was considered expedient by Government of India to utilize the SFCI farms for production of BREEDER seed which is a very scientific and technical job being hitherto handled by Agriculture Universities. Of late, SFCI has also got a mandate from Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) to produce the seed of newly identified but pre-released varieties as TEST STOCK seed for front line demonstrations. Thus, as on date, SFCI is producing Breeder, Foundation, Certified and Test Stock seeds of about 30-35 crops with wide range of about 300 varieties suitable for the farmers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Assam. SFCI is the largest seed-producing agency at its own farms in the country, which produces seeds of the highest genetic purity and best quality.State Farms Corporation of India Limited (SFCI) was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 with the objective to maintain Central Government�s Agriculture Farms in different State for production and distribution of quality seeds of different crops. SFCI is a schedule �C� CPSE in Agro Based Industry sector under the administrative control of Department of Agriculture and Co-operation Ministry of Agriculture The Chairman and Managing Director is the Chief Executive of the Corporation and accountable to its Board of Directors and Government of India. He is responsible for the efficient functioning of the Corporation for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters The Corporation has been recognised several times for National Productivity Awards. The Corporation was awarded productivity awards during Nov. 1995. The Corporation was awarded NPC award for the best production of seeds for the year 1993-94 by the President of India. During Nov. 1996  three farms of the Corporation. i.e. Bahraich, Aralm and Sardargarh were awarded first, second and third prize of NPC in farm sector for 1994-95 by the Prime Minister of India.The Corporation has been recognised several times for National Productivity Awards. The Corporation was awarded productivity awards during Nov. 1995. The Corporation was awarded NPC award for the best production of seeds for the year 1993-94 by the President of India. During Nov. 1996  three farms of the Corporation. i.e. Bahraich, Aralm and Sardargarh were awarded first, second and third prize of NPC in farm sector for 1994-95 by the Prime Minister of India.The seed production is the main activity at SFCI farms. SFCI has been given the mandate by ICAR in respect of seed production of newly identified varieties which are called Test stock. Every year ICAR is having a Workshop where highlights of Research including identification of the varieties which are to promoted for cultivation is done. The seed production of such verities is done by SFCI for frontline demonstration to the Farmers. SFCI is also supplementing the efforts of ICAR in the production of Breeder Seed. Like Agricultural Universities, SFCI is also producing Breeder seed from, 1982 onwards which is quite a challenging task. SFCI is also producing Foundation Seed of different crops to meet its own requirement of Foundation seed and supply of additional quantity to other State Seeds Corporations and National Seed Corporation. The Certified seed production programme is done to supply the seed to farmers. Since, most of the seed produced by SFCI are of latest varieties, the same are supplied mostly under seed minikit programme of Government of India mainly under Oilseeds and Pulses crops. Thus, SFCI is engaged in Test Stock, Breeder, Foundation and Certified seed production programme for Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds, Fiber crops and vegetables. For sustaining the seed production at farms, it has ideal location of the farms which are having qualified officers and skilled manpower well versed with the process/technique of seed production right from selection of fields to final pocking of seeds for their dispos
