Applications are invited from eligible Male Indian citizens of India for filling up the following Group C Combatised, Non-Gazetted (Non-Ministerial)posts in tradesmen cadres in SSB for the year 2011

1. CT(Cook) : 252 Posts

2. CT(Washer man) : 129 Posts

3. CT(Barber) : 66 Posts

4. CT(Safaiwala) : 122 Posts

5. CT(Water Carrier) : 135 Posts

6. CT(Waiter) : 06 Posts

7. CT(Painter) : 09 Posts

8. CT(Blacksmith) : 04 Posts

9. CT(Tailor) : 15 Posts

10. CT(Cobbler) : 18 Posts

11. CT(Gardener) : 09 Posts

Qualification : 1) Matriculation or equivalent form a recognized Board or Institute and 2) (i) Two years work experience in respective trade OR (ii) One year certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institute or Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the Trade OR (iii) Two years Diploma from recognized Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade. 3) Must qualify trade test .

Age : 18 to 23 years (Cut-off date for age will be 15.06.2011) (Relaxable as per rules)

Scale of Pay : Rs.5,200-20,200 + Grade Pay Rs.2,000 Per month plus usual and admissible allowances

General Instructions:
1. Candidates should read the instructions very carefully before filling up the application form.
2. Candidate must fulfill all the eligibility conditions as on 15-06-2011.
3. No change/alteration will be permitted once the form has been submitted.
4. All eligible candidates will be duly informed about the date and venue of the recruitment tests through Admit Cards. Candidates should come duly prepared for 6-7 days stay under their own arrangements at the Recruitment Centre. SSB department will not be responsible for damage / injury, if any, to the individual sustained during the Physical Efficiency Test.
5. Incomplete or incorrectly filled forms will be rejected and no correspondence on this will be made/ entertained. No application will be accepted after the last date as mentioned at para – 7.
6. Signature of the candidate throughout the recruitment process should be the same as put in the application form.
7. Candidates failing in any of the prescribed tests will be eliminated at that stage.
8. Mobile Phone and Calculator are strictly prohibited in the recruitment venue.
9. No separate admit card will be issued to the qualified candidates called for written examination, /Trade test and Final Medical Examination. The list of qualified candidates called for written examination, Trade test and Final Medical Examination will be displayed in the notice board at the Recruitment Venue.
10. Candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process for not confirming to the official Format/ having incomplete information/wrong information/ incomplete requisite certificates/ misrepresentation of facts.
11. Any sort of canvassing or recommendation will debar the candidate from selection.
12. TA for onward and return journey to SC/ST candidates will be paid as per G.O.I. instructions to those who appear in written test subject to production of rail / bus tickets, original caste certificate, nonemployment certificate from M.P. / MLA or any other gazetted officer of the locality in case they are not employed in Central / State Govt.
13. Mere qualifying all the prescribed tests in SSB recruitment of Constable (Tradesmen) does not confer the right of selection of the candidates but they should have to stand in merit keeping in view the available vacancies. The vacancies are subject to change.
14. Success in various stages of recruitment confers no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied after medical examination and such enquiry as may be considered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respect for appointment to the service/post.
15. Candidates have to appear in all the stages of Recruitment for which they have to qualify. If a candidate is absented from any stage/event for which he has to qualify, his candidature will be cancelled.
16. On appointment, the candidate shall be governed by SSB Act and Rules as amended from time to time. They shall be entitled for the pension benefits as per the “New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme” applicable for the new entrants to the Central Government Services w.e.f. 01-01-2004.
17. Selected candidates are required to undergo BRTC in SSB RTCs for which they will be informed separately through offer of appointment letter. They will be on probation for a period of two years which can be extended. During the period of probation, if found unfit for any reason the services are liable to be terminated.
18. In case a candidate is found in-eligible for service/post on any ground after his selection/appointment his services will be terminated without assigning any reason.
19. SSB strives to recruit fit, committed, sincere and best candidates with transparency and impartiality. hence candidates are advised to ‘Beware of Touts’.
20. The Director General, SSB reserves the right to make changes or cancel or postpone the recruitment without assigning any reason.

21. List of authorities empowered to issue scheduled caste / scheduled tribe and other backward class (OBC) Certificates. i) District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Collector / Deputy Commissioner/Additional Deputy Commissioner/Dy. Collector/1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate/Sub Divisional Magistrate/Extra-Assistant Commissioner/Taluka Magistrate/Executive Magistrate. ii) Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/Presidency Magistrate. iii) Revenue Officers not below the rank of Tehsildar. iv) Sub-Divisional Officers of the area where the candidate and/or his family resides. Note: ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu State should submit caste certificate only from the Revenue Division Officer.

About the organization:
SSB is a Border Guarding Force (BGF) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs. SSB was set up in early 1963 in the wake of the Indo-China conflict to inculcate feelings of national belonging in the border population and develop their capabilities for resistance through a continuous process of motivation, training, development, welfare programmes and activities in the then NEFA, North Assam, North Bengal, hills of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh. The scheme was later extended to Manipur, Tripura, Jammu (1965), Meghalaya (1975), Sikkim (1976), border areas of Rajasthan and Guj arat (1989), Manipur, Mizoram and some more areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat (1988), South Bengal, Nagaland (1989) and Nubra Valley, Rajouri and Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir (1991).  In the forty years of its existence, SSB endeavoured to present a benign face of the government among border populace in the far flung and inaccessible areas subscribing to the ETHOS of Service, Security and Brotherhood. The local populace always found SSB standing steadfastly with them during difficult times. Pursuant to the recommendations of the Group of Ministers on reforming the National Security System, SSB was declared as a border guarding force and lead intelligence agency (LIA) for Indo-Nepal border (January, 2001) and assigned the task of guarding the 1751 kms long Indo-Nepal border along the states of Uttaranchal, (263.7 kms.- Distts. 03), Uttar Pradesh (599.3 kms. – Distts. 07), Bihar (800.4 kms.- Distts.-07), West Bengal (105.6 kms. – Distt-01) and Sikkim (99 kms.). In March 2004, SSB was assigned the task of guarding the 669 kms. stretch of Indo-Bhutan border along the states of Sikkim- (32 kms.), West Bengal ( 183 kms.- Distts.-02), Assam (267 kms,- Distts.-04) and, Arunachal Pradesh (217 kms.- Distts.-02) We the members of the Sashastra Seema Bal are committed to our motto of service, security, brotherhood.
